Looking for books on UFOs

Hi lunarose.

Thanks for the input. I'd say, right now, I take a "secular" (lack of a better word) view of UFOs but since reading the RI perspective, I'm certainly open to the idea of real contact.

It looks like, from what I'm gathering via the RI crowd, Vallee's stuff is where to start. He seems like a one-stop encyclopedia of all things supernatural. And I'm a sucker for French writers!

I read Mothman back in high school or college (can't remember). I really enjoyed the read, and it certainly gave me the willies a few times, but I couldn't bring myself to believe it. I just felt Keel really wanted it to be true. Not necessarily a proper skeptical control on his part. Just my opinion. I don't blame him. It's a great story, either way.

I also enjoy reading Jenny Randles, you can sort through her titles to find ones on the topics you're particularly interested in. She was one of the main investigators of the Rendlesham incident, which Vallee analyzes as a military-sponsored rumor propagation exercise.

That sounds totally up my alley! Thank you, I've never read her. Is it kind of like a Chica Bruce / Montauk thing or different?

----------

Take care everyone. Leaving the states for a gig. Happy Holidays.

Good thread. I also enjoy Jenny Randles, as well as many other suggestions here.

Grant Hart, in a sing-songy way, wrote:Walking down a sunny street to the library
Checking out the latest books on outer space
Going to the fruit stand to buy a dozen oranges
Then she and the books and the oranges go back to her place

She tells the same old story to everyone that she knows
She's just sitting in her room reading books about UFOs

Sometimes I see her sitting on the rooftop
Perched in a lawnchair and staring into the sky
I know that somewhere in some faraway galaxy
That some gray men with telescopes are gazing right into her eyes

Her live revolves around all of the planets
And she is constantly aware of all the changes that occur
I'm going to turn into a lens and focus all my attention
On finding a new planet and naming it right after her

Hahaha, no. Maybe Grant Hart was spying on you in the future from 1985 though. He was into Burroughs (in more than one way) -- so that sort of makes sense.

Here's the song (if you don't have it): Hüsker Dü - Books About UFOs

Also, this should help with your previous question:

Infinity Factory - Chica Bruce (The Montauk Project) [Part1]

Infinity Factory - Chica Bruce (The Montauk Project) [Part2]

There's a little book - and I mean little; under 150 pages - entitled Visitation: The Certainty of Alien Activity by Peter Hough (who's also a research partner of and sometimes coauthor with Jenny Randles). I picked it up a few months ago on sale for $1.99. Really good stuff. Goes over some familiar ground with fresh insight and introduces much I hadn't heard before.
