Personally, I'm dancing the "Dance of Sitting on my Butt in front of a Monitor".

I'm a guy. I'm the offspring of Midwesterners. I don't dance.

Oh christ, Fred Astaire was from fucking Omaha, and was hung like a draft horse. What's that got to do with the price of rice in Racine?

He looks gay. In every sense of the word.

My son has mentioned he doesn't like to dance either. He hates it, he feels like he looks like an idiot. He's only 7. It's in our blood.

That being said, I have to say the one place I've felt completely free to dance was in a gay dance club in Austin Texas. If you're straight, and you're in a gay dance club, you don't have to worry about looking gay. Because all the other guys ARE gay.

I found that to be extremely freeing. That and the copious amount of tequila I was drinking that night.

I'm really just joking around. I'm a terrible dancer and I find it exhausting. Although I've been told by some women that I was a surprisingly good dancer. But I have to say I don't even like the word. Dancing, prancing, mincing, fancy. It's so gay!

I have been known, when younger, to drink a lot and go burn it all off on a dance floor. But the music has to be just right. I once worked up a great sweat at a Buckwheat Zydeco concert in Denver. For instance.

There's nothing sexier than a het man who knows how to dance.** But just for remedial education purposes, below please find some indisputably not-gay (though not necessarily sexy) dancing by men.

Be they straight or gay. Not that there's anything wrong with either one, of course.

(He was a great natural dancer and HOT in many performances c.'56/'57, but I picked the above because it was the one that caused the big hubbub, as a result of which he had to go on Steve Allen's show a few weeks later, looking classy and not moving below the waist.

**(Unless he's also wearing a dress.)

Yeah, I have an old friend with whom I've lost contact who realized, once, that straight women love a straight male who can dance.

He started during the swing-dancing craze probably about 15 years ago or so and turned it into a near-career.

He was a nerdy skinny guy who couldn't get laid to save his life, then when he became a swing-dancing pro he turned into this playboy! He grew a goatee and got some decent clothes and next thing I knew he was juggling three women and more at a time.

It was funny to watch, really. To me he was still the same geek. It was like that movie Love Potion number 9.
