The phrase "the male penis [as] a problematic and not altogether attractive new problem..." is a bit off.

Oh, I agree. It is a very accurate and to-the-point thread title but I knew it would get moved out of the spotlight for being too Hustler.

While I've studied the psy-ops of Kimpossible I've also noticed how amazingly appealing she is even in her cartoonish lines. Disney has captured the idealized sexual lines of her eyes and hair and body stance that combines militaristic intent with conventional femininity. Quite a propaganda design accomplishment bordering on pornographic.

The girls that are meant to see her as a role model and experience parasocial interaction with her get cues about still looking cheerleader alpha-sexy even in olive drab cargo pants and boots.
Notice the absurdly thin waist that doesn't even make contact with her pants. This is critical to a girl's self-image in today's visually judgemental culture.

YouTube is loaded up with disinformation about Disney and sex and satanism.
There are zillions of videos added in the last year claiming that Disney's secret messaging is just inserting covert images of penises and breasts in some animation.

This is an extension of the disinfo exaggeration that Disney fables are used for triggering mind control along with the Wizard of Oz, another narrative where socionomic subtext is involved.

The real covert Disney sexual messaging is about gender roles, not genitalia per se.
Although Ron Stoppable's flesh colored naked mole rat is definitely meant to represent the ever-intruding Culture of the Penis to recruitable girls.

Clever. The use of subliminal sexual cues in advertising is very real, not just a cliche or urban myth.

I have a 1966 Life Magazine that is a fabulous specimen of the hey day of subliminal sex in advertising and even article layout where very phallic liquer bottles emphasize articles about masculine authority and the Vietnam War. There's a two-page full spread ad for Alkaseltzer that has a glass of fizzing bubbles on both pages with the caption "Can you tell the difference?" One glass's bubbles form a penis and the other's forms a vagina with a smaller penis juxtaposed to telegraph the more subtle female image.

Classic. The same thing still goes on.

y'know Hugh I almost had to start another thread yesterday from another of your musings on the 'anna/elle' thread. you said something regarding 'Veronica Mars' and 'Veronica' of Archie Comics fame and I was laughing about it and wondering when 'Betty Venus' was going to come along.

so, once again I was going to comment on this on poor American Dream's anna/elle thread and realized i was repeating my bad behavior.

then I had to ponder whether or not to start another thread in General Discussion called "Betty Venus Penis Crusher", and I decided that I had caused enough mischief for one day and just left it alone, only to get moved here to the Lounge, sigh.

I had never heard of Kim Possible until I had a Halloween party a couple of years ago and a co-worker and his wife came as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. I was hosting the party as my alter-Ego, 'Sniffy The Clown" and Sniffy was already pretty intoxicated by the time this Disney Duo showed up.

"Hey, who the fuck are you two supposed to be?" demanded Sniffy of two people who didn't appear to be wearing any costumes at all.

"I'm Kim Possible!"
"And I'm Ron Stoppable, would you like to see my naked mole rat?"

"Maybe later." slurred Sniffy as he stumbled off to make another margarita.
