You see, good Semper, you are now causing me to meditate once again upon the old Crow. I never liked him much, I'll be honest. It was gurdjieff refused to even speak with him, I think. I am composing a retort to Crowley which I may publish. I may put it in verse. Some of it sort of already is in some of my verse.

like the old days
where you could wake up
in another state

not know how you got there
lifting your face
from a cold plate of eggs
seeing the tag Linda

askin you okay hon?
going outside
flipping a coin
north or south

facing a new ocean
heads its north
picked up by a girl
with a baby in a carseat
and a .357 on her lap

change me changeless strange
the burning wheels beyond hope
signal your imanent capture
as the baby stops crying at last

you should have gone west
the inner voice breathes
toward the last of the son
straight into the deafening waves

The ants have it good
though they move more slowly
now the leaves are turning

I once was a god
with a magnifying glass
death ray sizzle and pop

or tossing them in the pits
of the patient antlions
their jagged jaws waiting

the ants have it good
they always have
and they will after we're long gone

and we will be long gone someday
being so much more fragile
being so less like gods
than they.
