These conversations took place in Big Sur from September 8-12 1989, exactly 12 years before 9/11 and nearly two decades before the current Climate Change, Global Expropriation and Peak Everything crisis. One of the many amazing things about these talks is their optimism; you almost have to say: their innocence.
McKenna died only months before 9/11. I would have loved to have experienced another trialogue a year after that event. 'The Edge of the West' is starting to take on a new meaning now, although it's a crisis they certainly anticipated, even if not in detail.
