Mystery pink pigeon spotted on rooftops in Breightmet

The bird, which has pink and white plumage, but still has a normal grey head, was spied on a rooftop in Breightmet earlier this morning.

There is a breed of bird called a pink pigeon — called nesoenas mayeri which are native to Mauritius — but these are very rare and normally such a paler shade of pink they are almost white.

Blue red king crab

In this photo taken July 4, 2014, and provided by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game, crab fisherman Frank McFarland, left, holds up a rare blue-colored red king crab he caught in his commercial crabbing pots

Looks purple to me. In fact, if I worked at Crayola, I would call that color "blue red king crab purple".

Falmouth rock climber Gareth Greeves' finds unusual pink grasshopper on Bosigran descent

Image

The last one was found in Devon. This one was found in Cornwall, one county over. Perhaps they are related.

I challenge either of you to find an example of a pink hippo killing a person. It just does not happen.

White hunters, since time immemorial have in fact, always been pink under their khakis...

^^^

I posted the above in anticipation of someone saying the following:

Saved from boiling pot: Extremely rare blue lobster named 'Skyler' finds a new home.

Image

But forget that piece of garbage, somebody found a rarer yellow lobster: Yellow-orange lobster — rarer than the blue one — arrives at New England Aquarium.

Image

Blue lobsters, though striking, appear at a frequency of about one in 2 million, researchers say. The yellow-orange lobster is closer to one in 30 million. White lobsters are the rarest of all.

And another pink grasshopper has been found, this time in Japan. Pink Grasshoppers Are Real, Rare, and Vaguely Cute.

Maine lobstermen catch 2 albino lobsters in week

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Plus a yellow lobster. One expert has said the lobster on the left looks a little too blue, which used to be rare but I am not sure anymore. Is this a summer of shark kind of amplification of relatively commonplace events? Albinos are supposed to be one in one hundred million. Yellows are one in thirty million and blues are a mere one in two million, as I posted above, and reds are about one in one. Of course, some more "rare" lobsters have been found. Another blue:

And a calico:

Rare calico lobster, a 1-in-30 million find, turns up at Maine bait shop:
