I've changed mine several times now without noting it here but ... FWIW here is the source of my current avatar:

Oh, and right before changing my avatar to the one from the above post's image ... I had briefly used this image from an electronic music artist I really enjoy called TYCHO: http://ghostly.com/artists/tycho

From his album COASTAL BRAKE: http://ghostly.com/releases/coastal-brake

Mac's avatar always reminds me of our semi-feral cat 'Mimi' (name changed to protect her identity) :wink

So ... I was recently wondering where MacCruiskeen got his avatar from...

... and just now noticed a friend on facebook had shared a video that is the "source" ... I'd no idea it was from a viral video animation.

The fb video is here:

But searching just now on YouTube I see there are likely a variety of variations out there:

Mac posted the video before adopting his new avatar. When he did I was drawn to remember the bus in My Neighbor Totoro.

My avatar comes from page 37 of Carl Jung's Red Book and represents Jung at the height and depth and breadth of his intellectual and spiritual awareness. In my humble opinion.

I’m not as Jung as I used to be.

My avatar is the fine old fowl featured in the fruit tree flattening and finessing ruffled feathers.

Pro-Trump message boards and fake news sites are absurdly suggesting former President Barack Obama practices satanism.

Makes sense that the peasants would see only cartoon Satanism, but really, the biggest thing going for that .jpg's authenticity is the fabulous nature of the costume -- squarely in line with the same Euro-Trash occult kitsch we've been seeing since the 60's & 70's. Indeed, he could have wandered out of our timeline and walked into that Rothschild Surrealist Party from '72.

This is very much how they party in The .01%.

Still, the utility value of conspiracy theory culture proves itself yet again. The bullshit narrative that gets attached to the photo becomes the grounds for Respectable Journalists™ to ignore it altogether. Which is exactly how James Alefantis managed to avoid scrutiny.

I think it is a photo of someone, not Obama, wearing a Carnival costume in Rio.

Drag Queen making a presentation to children at a rural public library for 'Drag Queen Story Hour'.

Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

It is not. Photo is a Burning Man regular, Michel Madie.
