Contemptible quotes from insufferable assholes

Sir Alan Sugar, I mean Lord Sugar (a close confidante of Lady Marmalade, I hear) said this: "I hope this Egypt thing does not give people in other countries the idea to try to over throw govs."

First quoted here by Stephen Morgan in a different thread, but worthy of inclusion in this one.

It's not quite, "We had to destroy the village in order to save it," or "I don't see why we need to stand by and watch a country go communist due to the irresponsibility of its people," or "Kill them all - God will know his own," but it comes from the same mindset. It starts from a position of utterly discounting the people themselves as a worthwhile entity.

I would love to know more. What I know is troubling enough. And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American. When he gave the bust back to the Brits - the bust of Winston Churchill, a great insult to the British. But then if you think about it, his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather.

The likes of Brigadier Frank Kitson, and head of the Bahraini Mukhabarat Ian Henderson, would like nothing more than to have an operational overseer like Mike Huckabee. They've tolerated leaders who restrained them, outfoxed leaders who tried to work around them, made fools of leaders who tried to use them controllably, and somehow outlived leaders who opposed them.... who knows how. And there they all still are. Them and their ilk. In Kenya, they were given free reign, and used it. Kitson invented a large part of modern standard psychological warfare methods, as well as first utilising his theories about counter-gangs and pseudo-operations (false flags). Henderson, meanwhile, was torturing people scientifically - taking notes on what worked and what didn't.

All these people need is an abject moron with no historical sense to not lead them. Reagan was good, Bush was better. Cameron and his Cabinet are edging towards perfection - they take these types on diplomatic missions to the country's they have terrorised without even thinking about it being problematic. Just after a revolution that ousted their client. No shame at all - without fear or favour.

Obama's not far behind now, in those stakes. He might be ahead.

Canada seemed to be doing alright as a first-tier socialistic country for a couple of decades, before Harper's arrival. What went wrong?

Please do not allow your government to swagger too far into the neoliberal fast lane. If you do so, my brother will probably end up coming home and living in my house again. That would result in much wailing and gnashing of teeth. I'm relying on you, Canada, to protect me from such things.

National budgets are extremely strapped as the country wrestles with the cost of its appalling deficit; decisions about resources for local communities are taken locally, not in No 10 or in the office of the secretary for state of culture. Has anyone explained these points to Jessica? ... The impression is left of froth without substance. ... After all, when tearful teenagers wrote to the PM about the break-up of Take That more than a decade ago No 10 couldn't fix that either.
-- Roy Clare, head of the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, in response to a letter from an eight year old girl to the Prime Minister protesting the closure of her local library

People see a Natalie Portman who boasts, 'We're not married but we're having these children and they're doing just fine.' I think it gives a distorted image. It's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out-of- wedlock children. Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have health care. And that's the story that we're not seeing.

Says Billy Ray, "Were it not for David Lynch, Miley would never have been Hannah Montana." This is because Lynch employed Billy Ray in his 2001 masterpiece Mulholland Drive, which might have given Billy Ray the juice he needed to star in the medical drama Doc, where Billy Ray allowed his daughter to take small acting roles for the first time.

Satan: Shaken by a stretch of highway near the Disney studios that was adopted by Atheists United, Billy Ray calls it "a physical sign. It could have easily said 'You will now be attacked by Satan.' 'Entering this industry, you are now on the highway to darkness.'" Does he think the Cyrus clan has been under siege by the dark lord? "I think we are right now. No doubt. There's no doubt about it."

Ray Kurzweil wrote:I am one of five members of the Army Science Advisory Group (ASAG), which advises the US Army on priorities for its science research. Although our briefings, deliberations, and recommendations are confidential, I can share some overall technological directions that are being pursued by the army and all of the US armed forces....

As robotic systems become physically smaller and larger in number, the principles of self-organizing swarm intelligence will play an increasingly important role.... As military weapons become smaller in size and larger in number, it won't be desirable or feasible to maintain human control over each device. So increasing the level of autonomous control is another important goal. Once machine intelligence catches up with biological human intelligence, many more systems will be fully autonomous.

Then just today we have this, from the appropriately named Larry FINK:

http://www.zerohedge.com/article/shadow ... an-markets

Wall Street's shadow king, Blackrock's Larry Fink who manages over $3 trillion, and is the world's biggest asset manager, appeared on Bloomberg TV in an interview with Erik Schatzker, and the first thing he said is that the "market likes totalitarian governments." That one statement explains everything one needs to know about the market performance over the past two years: there has hardly been a time in the past century when all the globalized regimes supporting stock markets and asset prices have been more "totalitarian" by Fink's, or any other definition, than they are now. And while the plutocracy may welcome the advent of the Communist States of Iosif Vissarionovich Bernankestein, the common folk, as they always do, ultimately revolt violently against any such attempt at supreme government. Zero Hedge regular Mike Krieger was quick to proclaim his condemnation: "This is how these elites think. Even if markets did like totalitarian governments HUMANS DON’T. This guy is pure scum and is exactly what is wrong with America and its policy today. This is also the guy that told us to buy dollars and treasuries yesterday…" But such are the ways of a dying ponzi regime. Everyone knows the end is coming and is inevitable. And while Wall Street's self-anointed masters of the universe believe they will be able to avoid the ultimate unwind, they are wrong. Just like Gaddafi is finding out first hand right about now.

"References to members of the Royal Family should be very rare, very sparing and very respectful.

"We have to be very careful in our handling of these matters."

The Duke of York should be sacked as a UK trade ambassador because of his links to Colonel Gaddafi's son, a senior Labour MP has said.
