Honest Bag is quite a nice blog maintained by a friend of mine. He writes about, and reviews, psychedelic/ambient/drone tapes and records from boutique labels. Lots of beautiful pictures, words and positive vibes. Please give it a look.

Thank you Sunshine, I really enjoyed listening to many of those tracks. And particularly reading your friends descriptions of them. If I wasn't poor I'd definitely buy the cassettes - I love the idea of strictly limited editions on old-stylee equipment for the few that appreciate a good, solid background of sound to their adventures.

Strangely, I immediately saw a strong comparison between the soundscapes your friend recommends with a 'tuning tone' I picked up a while ago that purports to be an ancient method of communication when used in conjunction with aligned symbols. (but that's another story entirely). Nice bit of synchronicity for me.

Positive vibes indeed. Thanks again.

That's fantastic, Coffin_D and you're quite welcome. Having been a long time vinyl collector (not so much anymore, as I'm my financial situation sounds similar to yours) I was a little skeptical of the cassette revival, but now I've come to appreciate it. I realized that that cassettes can be a complete package of intimate visual works and sounds made in small batches -- rare treasures created and left for those willing to explore and discover. I bought a tape deck on ebay last fall, but haven't really had the funds to begin a collection. Maybe one day.

If you get the chance I wouldn't mind hearing about the tuning tone you picked up and I'm sure my friend would like to hear too.

Cheers!
