Fired FAU professor James Tracy continues with lawsuit to win job back
Lulu Ramadan Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
3:45 p.m Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 Southern Palm Beach County

BOCA RATON

A fired Florida Atlantic University professor known for conspiracy claims that mass shootings were staged has revised and re-filed a lawsuit against the Boca Raton university in an effort to win his job back.

The lawsuit was narrowed down — from 10 counts of wrongdoing to six — and re-filed per a federal judge’s orders. Judge Robin L. Rosenberg previously partly dismissed the “complex” lawsuit and gave James Tracy and his attorneys an opportunity to clarify points.

The 56-page complaint filed Wednesday claims Tracy was dismissed from the university, where he held tenure, in retaliation for exercising free speech on his personal blog, which he used to share conspiracy theories regarding domestic mass casualty incidents, such as the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn. and the Boston Marathon bombing.

Tracy, who was fired in January, would not have been terminated had it not been for his controversial blogging, the lawsuit argues.

The lawsuit also alleges that university officials — including the president and members of the faculty union — conspired to fire Tracy.

The university has said Tracy, who once taught in the School of Communications, was fired for failure to submit paperwork that detailed his activities outside the university, including unpaid, online activities.

Tracy’s lawsuit challenges the constitutionality of requiring faculty to fill out such forms.

“Without intervention from this Court, employees and faculty at Florida Atlantic University will be deterred or chilled from exercising their constitutional rights, including but not limited to personal blogging and other forms of constitutionally protected speech and expression,” the complaint reads.

Tracy is suing for reinstatement as a tenured professor at Florida Atlantic University and compensatory damages.

The lengthy complaint details a history of alleged mistreatment of Tracy by the university beginning in late 2012, when national attention was cast on one of Tracy’s blog posts claiming the Sandy Hook massacre — which left 26 dead — was a hoax.

Tracy, who for years taught a course titled “Culture of Conspiracy,” was reprimanded by the university, but the reprimand was eventually removed from his record.

The lawsuit claims fellow faculty at Florida Atlantic pressured and harassed Tracy to resign, and the university never investigated the alleged harassment.

Tracy’s attorney, Louis Leo IV, has said he and Tracy ultimately aim to land the case before a jury.

... Tarpley:

“The patsies ultimately have three vital functions. The first is that they have to be noticed. They must attract lots and lots of attention. They may issue raving statements on videotape, or doubles can be used to issue these statements for them if they are not up to it. They need to get in to fights with passersby, as Mohammed Atta is said to have done concerning a parking space at the airport in Maine early in the morning on September 11.

Even if they are presumed dead they must remain prominent, as in the case of Atta’s passport, which is alleged by the FBI to have survived the fiery collapse of the World Trade Center towers to be found undamaged and unsinged on a nearby street. Even when presumed dead they must be eloquent about themselves and their activities, as they accused 9/11 hijackers when they left behind a copy of the Koran, airline schedules, terrorist literature and videotapes, and Atta’s crudely forged last will and testament in a car and in luggage.

Finally, if all else goes well, it is the destiny of the patsies to take the blame for the terror action once it has happened. At this point the moles in the government apparatus, who had earlier been the patsies’ greatest friends and protectors, become their most implacable enemies. The patsies must be hunted down and, preferably, liquidated on the spot, as the British Special Air Services anti-terrorist force always prefers to do, with a maximum of firepower. Their faces and stories will be demonized as the latest manifestation of absolute evil. The nationality, philosophy, or religion which the media portray them as representing will become the target of raving vilification, arrest, economic sanctions, cruise missile retaliation, and armed invasion, as the case may be.”

Details: It was Satam Al Suqami's passport, not Atta's. Not sure why this mistake is so common. Good point made, though.

LOS ANGELES – A Denver man was arrested in Los Angeles Thursday in connection with possible pipe bombs found in a downtown Denver hotel.

Adam Hayat, an American citizen of Pakistani descent, was found with knives in his possession after apparently flying to L.A. from Denver, ABC News reported.

Federal sources told Denver7 Investigates that police discovered the unexploded devices inside a safe in the Sheraton Hotel, where the suspect was staying.

“Police called this morning from Denver, and I talked to them,” Sultan Hayat, Adam Hayat's father, told Denver7's Jaclyn Allen. “They said that he had run up a bill of $10,000 since Dec. 26 at a Denver hotel."

Sources told Denver7 Investigates that the unpaid bill tipped off investigators. When they went to the hotel room, they found a note written on the mirror in lipstick referencing PTSD and pipe bombs in the room's safe.

Investigators then tracked his cell phone to California, where he was staying in a Holiday Inn on La Cienega, a major north-south boulevard in Los Angeles.

Sultan Hayat said his son has a long history of mental health problems, including PTSD, bipolar disorder and ADD.

“Police said he had bought some firearms, and they were concerned that he may hurt himself or someone else,” said Sultan Hayat. "I was very surprised."

The suspect's father also said he hasn’t spoken to Hayat in several months, but he said his son is homeless and has been estranged from the family for years.

Sultan Hayat added that his son joined the Marines out of high school, serving in Japan and Korea, as well as Iraq.

"He has collected hunting knives since he was young," said Sultan Hayat when told knives had reportedly been in his son's possession. "He likes them."

The 35-year-old veteran reportedly sent a letter to the VA about five years ago, complaining he wasn't being listened to, sources close to the investigation told ABC News.

Investigators on Thursday were also trying to determine whether Hayat was on the radar of law enforcement agencies.

Hayat is expected to be brought from California to Denver to face charges, according to a high-level Denver7 Investigates source. It can take weeks to move a defendant between states.

A employee who answered the guest services line at the Sheraton hotel told Denver7 investigative reporter Jace Larson that everything was back to normal at the hotel and that the hotel was operating normally following an initial investigation.

It appears Hayat has lived in Denver since at least 2012...

Court records show Hayat was cited for violating a curfew at Civic Center Park in the summer of 2012...

...Sources tell 9NEWS that during a search of a room Hayat is believed to have stayed in at the downtown Sheraton that investigators found a note on a mirror indicating that explosives were stashed in the safe. The note included the code to open it.

... He was arrested Thursday at the Holiday Inn LAX. Investigators found no similar materials there, 9NEWS has learned.

He flew into Los Angeles on Wednesday, sources said.

Hayat is an American citizen and a former U.S. Marine, 9Wants to Know has learned.

Sources confirmed that he is the same person who appeared in a 2011 story in St. Louis’ Riverfront Times about the “occupy” movement. At that point, Hayat said he was living in the St. Louis area and described himself as an “unemployed Iraq War vet.”...

http://kdvr.com/2017/02/16/sources-man- ... otel-room/

... Police evacuated as many as 20 rooms from the hotel at 1550 Court Place after the bomb squad was called in.

Experts removed several unexploded devices, placing them inside a concrete carrier before taking them away.

"Within a brief, short amount of time, [guests] were given the all-clear for people to return,” Blair said.

Hayat is due in court in Los Angeles. The FBI is investigating why he had the weapons and what he was planning to do with them.

Hayat is an American citizen of Pakistani descent. He had been staying at the Sheraton for perhaps as long as a month.

Reports say he is from the St. Louis area and at one point was in the Marines.

Just had the rather horrifying realization that the White Helmets are probably going to ACTUALLY WIN an Academy Award one week from tonight.

*Edit to add: I saw many unnecessary assumptions and triffling errors in the first twelve pages of this historical treatise of Sharon Tate and the murderin' Manson, but even though MIles Mathis's report is a tad too long and he crimps his credibility by incorrectly insisting on minor points, I still get the gist and will read the rest because I also saw some rarely reported, titillating little tidbits that ring too true.

http://mileswmathis.com/tate.pdf

...The Actors
A few readers will say I am just following Mae Brussell's script so far, and Brussell did touch on some of these points above. But this is where I jet past her. I say that Manson was just one more actor, because all the top parts were played by actors. We already know that. Sharon Tate was an actor. Her career started in 1965 with the movie Eye of the Devil, a movie about devil worship and sacrificial murders, where Sharon plays a witch. More recently she had played a vampire in the Fearless Vampire Killers; then she played a slut in the Valley of the Dolls, one who has an abortion, becomes a soft-core porn actress and then kills herself with downers; then she had a bit part in Rosemary's Baby. Curious how all these films have to do with babies, blood, and death. In the Manson murders, she was just continuing a trend. You might say she was typecast. The same can be said for Roman Polanski. He was the director of Fearless Vampire Killers and Rosemary's Baby, and he was one of the leads in the former, becoming a vampire at the end. If the FBI had been looking for someone to direct a Satanic slasher film, they could not have found a more perfect candidate. Does no one but me find that to be a big red flag? The murder takes place in the home of a director of Satanic murder films 3, and actors are murdered? No one thought that was suspicious...

Thanks for that chump. I've enjoyed your photography and remember what fun shooting with a macro lens is. The first time in maybe 45 years I've heard Carnaby street mentioned. I had a great corduroy maxi coat from Carnaby. It was stolen when my car was broken into, along with several hundred dollars worth of pipes and my portable Grundig car radio.

I recognized Arthur right away as Arthur Treacher but had to check to be sure. Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips, the first of its kind in the states. Now that I've learned Tate's staring role in the vampire flick was a comedic take-off of the genre, I'll be sure to watch it.

(In NYS in 1966 the teachers annual salary was about $5400.)

The critics are split on this nomination. Some say her performance was passionate and convincing. If you ask me, I think she phoned it in.

She has the cute thing going for her, but I still say this year Trump will sweep it in nearly every category. Best Hair will be just a feather in his crown.
