Documenting history with comedy

Something I like a lot is there's always somebody making parodies of the current situation.

Some of the material serves as just fun stuff to remember about our times, like Clinton singing to the tune of YMCA - about "My DNA". But..
I still have stuff like "the Taliban song" on my computer, as a brutal reminder of how much lying was done since then.

All this babble just to say.. for people who have the bandwidth, check out JibJab. For starters, a great clip about the 2004 election. This Land.
Click the 'animation' menu if you want to see the rest of the clips.

To Replace Cindy Sheehan's Son, Bush Offers Her Karl Rove By Lee Camp

President Bush made an announcement Monday in Crawford, TX that he would offer his Whitehouse deputy chief of staff Karl Rove to Cindy Sheehan as a replacement for her son who died in the Iraq War. Sheehan has been camped outside the President's vacation ranch in Crawford for several weeks demanding to speak with Bush about his reasons for going to war.
Bush has refused to speak with her, saying that the Whitehouse does not negotiate with grieving mothers and that he and his staff cannot bring back her son from the dead.
However, in a change of policy, Bush is now offering Sheehan a replacement for her son – embattled Whitehouse staffer Karl Rove.
In recent weeks Rove has been accused of outing a CIA operative in order to get back at a journalist who wrote an article refuting one of Bush's reasons for war in Iraq. Many are calling this offering a genius political move by the Bush Administration. One anonymous source said, "By pawning Rove off on Sheehan, the Administration can kill two birds with one stone. Besides, Rove eats a lot. The Bush camp is getting tired of feeding him."
No word has come yet as to Sheehan's reaction to being offered an overweight, scandal-ridden millionaire in place of her war hero son. Yet, there are some unconfirmed reports that if Sheehan does not accept the offer, she may die in a "hunting accident" in Crawford next week.
Sources close to the family suggested that she may accept the offer only to sign Rove up for immediate service in Iraq.

There's other stuff on this site that's pretty good, and all topical.
