For the record, after googling Humanism for a refresher, and talking with my family physician, I am definitely not anti-humanism.
Good to have that confirmed by the proper authority.

The crude anti-humanism, the brick-in-the face misanthropy, the contempt for empathy and the individual, the lack of subtlety, the ambiguous way you take a shit on stage, the crickets chirping in seats filled neither with communists nor anti-communists. This is the second coming of Chekhov!
PS - It means you're boring.

Sounder said more than the mild phrase you selected here. I made an effort to de-escalate a tense exchange, and I much prefer that sort of moderation to the cudgel. Sounder has apologized and rephrased his complaint—is that such an unhappy result?
Nobody "ganged up" on Sounder. I reminded him, rather nicely I thought, not to use personal attacks in his arguments.
Nobody's going to "win" a personalized flame war. Especially against Jack. So let's just not go there. State your arguments well and let's leave aspects like someone's imagined "butt hurt" out of it.

About all I can say about what you are, brekin, is that you pass a Turing test. I don't know you.
Your still unacknowledged and possibly unrecognized fallacy is to confuse a comment about your works with one about you, some person (presumably) I don't know.
It may be painful to hear that others dislike or find your work odious, but this comment was about your work, which was not censored, and your comparison of my reception of it to that experienced by Chekhov, whose subtlety, empathy and acknowledgment of ambiguity were such that his works were embraced by communists and anti-communists alike, each believing he was making their own case.JackRiddler » Tue Jun 16, 2020 6:36 am wrote:Yes of course, why didn't I see it sooner? I keep my parasol close to me, cause there's archons overhead and underfoot.
(This is where I do the comic photo montage of Betty Boop and the Old Man of the Mountain, Jack Parsons, L Ron Hubbard, Bugs Bunny, Huysmans, Britney Spears, John the Baptist, and the battle scenes from Kurosawa's Ran.)
