SATIRE

Barracuda and Searcher had an interesting exchange on another thread.

It went like this:

...and utterly pants at helping create new ideas and constructive approaches.

I'm not certain of this. Satire or humor or ridiculizing is often the result of juxtaposing an idea with it's opposite, or by summoning the incongruous. Such contrasts are a perfectly servicable method of creation and new-idea-generation.

Let's see.

I think satire's a fantastic thinking tool. If your ideas can't stand up to some mockery, then you ought to re-examine them, or be able to tell the mocker where he's misconstruing them.

First of all, Candian _Watcher, your drawings suck. That's supposed to be a fish?? Work on it.

Secondly, should your level of self-pity get any higher, we'd have to beatify your ass.

And finally, we generally frown upon threads the sole purpose of which seems to be starting fights and calling out other members. So I'm locking this one.
