I've sent this reply, as a warning, to his alert on the lounge thread:

Don't use such language to me again, about anyone here.

And don't pretend you haven't been lyric-baiting c2w in that thread. I'd like that to stop, too.

I saw his alert, and ignored it. He wants to get some last stabs in at c2w while he can, and I figure that conflict is at least partly why she decided to do a little more posting herself, the feisty she-devil.

She's a grownup and probably be equipped to deflect that kind of childishness as well as anyone without calling him an asshole and falling into his trap. But I know it's not always rewarding to avoid confrontations, and she's pulled her own card here anyway.

But, yeah, I'm glad you rebuked him. He functions as a wannabe hang-er on-er around the DE/Kidkenoma/Socrates nexus, parroting many of their recognisable comments in a cryptic fashion on the board to get a rise while remaining within the limits of plausible deniability. So fuck 'im.

lyric-baiting? that's some freaky shit, and yeah, after looking it over I could see where you'd think that, but that never even crossed my mind, until now. Think what you'd like. I just can't understand how she can repeatedly attack me and you guys just let her do it. Never saying a word. After the fith or sixth time, yeah, I say some stuff that I normally don't, who wouldn't. I have never once accosted anyone on here, ever. Yet, I'm repeatedly the target of miss popularity? Whatever.

Okay, at this juncture, because of the events that occasioned this particular mod thread I think it's fair to make a case for the banning of Uncle $cam from the board. Reviewing compared2what?'s post on the music thread, (and receiving an email from her on the subject) I hadn't noticed that in her first line the name "Uncle $cam" is a link to this thread:

in which Scam links to a virulently anti-semitic site, and then proceeds to casually play it off by jerking your (Jeff's) chain around for several posts. At that time you stated pretty clearly,

Uncle $cam, I'll presume that was poor judgement. If I see shit like that posted again you're going to banned for it.

Without going through every post of his, we can, though, look at the two recent posts that are causing me real problems with him. The first one is, of course, his posting of "Wir Sind Wir" in the music thread, which was part of what c2w was responding to:

A pointedly German nationalist anthem that really has no legitimate place here without some explanation. That is, I can sort of understand posting it if you were to explain it's significance, otherwise, it's hard to see it as anything but a $tormfront dog-whistle. Which, I'll admit, went over my head before I realised the significance of c2w's link.

The kicker, though, is his double post in response to ronin's Magda Goebbels thread, which attempts to downplay and mitigate the significance of an article about the murder of the Goebbels children. This is another very high-pitched dog-whistle, which is correctly identified by c2w as problematic. I find her assessment overly generous to say the least:

So right there, I'm done with Scam.

You warned him in no uncertain terms and he continues posting nazi material here unabashedly. I warned him about the lyric-baiting in January, and he simply upped the level of antagonism. I mean, before the "UR DOIN IT WRONG" thread, Scam had about three posts total in the music thread. Since then, his post count there exploded as a method of fucking with c2w and myself.

You warned him about it again, and he went straight ahead and posted more lyric baiting in c2w's farewell thread, and in the music thread.

He threatened to post all his pm's in the thread you locked.

He has been subtley bringing content to the board from the kidkenoma/dreamsend/socrates sites and posting it as sigils and gang signs around the forum since January. He is obviously aligned with those people, which means he is an enemy of the board, and devoted to smearing you, Jeff. That's what those people do, after all.

Finally, it's pretty clear that he has been devoting a lot of time and energy to hassling c2w. She is leaving, at least partly as a result of this. I would suggest that once she is gone, his post count will drop precipitously.

I have suggested to you before that we ban him, when he brought an image from Et's smear blog over to the images thread. I'm suiggesting it again. Alice sounds as if she is leaving, which (as much as I like her) may bring the level of anti-semitism down on the board. She is a well researched poster, but she skirts a line that nurtures a milieu that allows Scam and his ilk to lurk in the penumbra. Fuck them. Fuck him. Ban him.

I predict that if you do, there won't be a single poster besides some of the obvious lounge-only sock puppets (Laodiciean, Allegro, Amy Rose, perhaps?) that will mention it. It will be telling just to watch and see who brings it up first.

He's essentially a no-content addition to the forum anyway. What does he add here? Nazi sympathy and anti-semitism, that's what. Ban him before he gets a chance to leave winners.

Anyway, that's my suggestion.
