great idea - have registered no problem but I agree a set time for 'chatting' would be good remembering the different time zones (Im in the UK). Something along the lines of PM at something o'clock each day but open 24-7 for ad hoc musings- i suppose also it depends on how many of us come here in the first place. any idea Jeff?

I went but you were all asleep, presumably. Or getting ready for work or whatever. It's 3:45pm here, but the clock on the screen said 6:45 am.

I guess that's the price we pay for living on a round planet.

Ah, well. There's always the board...

If everyone who enters leaves immediately upon finding no-one there, then unless two or more enter simultaneously, the room will always be empty.

True enough, but most of us probably don't have the time to wait around all that much. I think a regularly scheduled Happy Hour would be a good way to get things going.

Yep agreed, and it might also be an idea to have each person in the chat room allocated a turn to speak, in order to prevent 29 different conversations taking place at once. If you wish to pass on your turn, you can just type in pass or something - perhaps

Anyways lets get a time sorted for a good ole pow wow :grouphug:

Hey Slim, trying to follow 29 different conversations at once is part of the fun of internet chat. Messages and responses get disconnected, in delayed synch. Do you remember that Two Ronnies sketch where Ronnie Corbett is on Mastermind, giving answers to the previous questions?

Besides which, I am not sure we going to get 29 people on rigint chat anytime soon.

Still, we live in hope. Er, maybe.

Anyway, I shall pop the room up in my browser whenever I have my pc on (which is a fair bit), so send me a hi, I might be busy or not in the mood to chat, but if you leave the room up I will reply when I see a message, or anyone present.

I look forward to seeing lots of you on the chat.

To be honest though, and many thanks to you Jeff for putting this up, I much preferred having the IRC channel on undernet, better refresh, more options and so on.

Oh well.

I am going to be in the chat room if anyone needs me.....
"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

The infamous et in Arcadia ego is present in the chat room signing autographs for a limited time.

Hopefully DE will log on so I can smash his nuts in real time in front of a live audience.
