Hi Chiggerbit -- Today I collected about 50 pounds of Ginkgo

nuts.

and another 10-20 pounds of aki gumi (autumnberry or autumn olives)

There is a tree near me that produces abundant gingko nuts and I was literally shovelling them from a parking lot into the back of my pickup.

Tongiht is a big freeze in the NE so I went out and got dead wood for the fireplace and woodstove, trimmed branches of autumn olive near the highway so I had probably ten-twenty pounds of berries to freeze and shoveled so much gingko nuts into the back of my truck that I actually figured folks would think I was nuts...

I noticed, Chiggerbit, that you are a moderator of this forum so I put you in the subject line knowing that you would notice....

Free fruit and medicinal berries with protein...

whose nuts?

All of ours....

You make me feel lazy, Seventhsonjr. I don't even bother collecting my own hickeorynuts or walnuts. Not that the squirrels let many of the nuts fall to the ground now, what with red oak wilt taking it's toll of the acorn trees.
