Wow, it sure was. Here's They Live video accompanied by South Park audio. It's like playing Dark Side of the Moon to The Wizard of Oz!

Hillarious! They Live btw what a great scene when he puts on the sunglasses for the first time...

I would have to add to the list of Rigorous Intuition-type films:

Children of Men - brilliant (it's been mentioned here loads), by Alfonso Cuaron, rapidly becoming (alread is?) a very important film-maker: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206634/

Thanks,

The Ghost In The Shell (Anime) movies and series remind me a lot of current world events. It's probably one of the best works of "predictive" fiction I have ever seen.

There is also a scene in the first season (Stand Alone Complex) in which the main character Motoko Kusanagi enters a virtual internet chat forum where people discuss a conspiracy and series of events known as "The Laughing Man" (that reminds me of RigInt ;) ).

If you read the history of the series, you'll understand what I mean by "predictive."

2000 - 2015 World War III

* World War III was a nuclear war, occurring some time between 2000 and 2015. While very little is still revealed about the events that occurred to cause the war, evidence shows that the war started from a series of nuclear exchanges across Eurasia.
* Nuclear Bombing of Tokyo - The seat of government was temporarily transferred to Niihama (Kobe) before permanent relocation to Fukuoka, Kyūshū. Central Tokyo was submerged under water.
* Nuclear Bombing of Okinawa

The Rise of the American Empire

* After World War III ended, America was divided into American Empire, Russo-American Alliance and United States of America. The American Empire had become an imperialist government, in an attempt to regain world power by conquering new areas in North and South America. Due to a battered economy and weak political position, the American Empire entered a security pact with Japan. The pact reaffirms Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution in prohibiting Japan from both deploying its army overseas and possessing nuclear weapons.

They mention many things about war and how it used only for profit, testing of weapons, and procuring of resources. The U.S. is mentioned with its role in the Middle East, for example (and why they are there is clearly not for "freedom" or democratic purposes).

I'm glad somebody mentioned "The Parallax View".

If you haven't seen it, go check it out. It's absolutely chilling.

Nobody seems to have mentioned "Clockwork Orange" except, I suppose, in the blanket Kubrick statements.

I want to go see Parallax View again, now that I'm thinking about it ....... I wonder if it's out on DVD .....

Sunset Boulevard

Also a book by a Soviet author supposedly he used Da Vinci and his times to criticise Stalin (I think it was written when stalin was still living) - THE ROMANCE OF LEONARDO DAVINCI - the Russian word for both novel and romance is roman so I think it must have different connotation in Russian.

The strangest book I've ever read but very poetic and filled with high weirdness but profound not conspiratainment - Used the word sub-aquatic a number of time usually to do with the awning he used over his models to defuse the light to help with the contrapasto - subtle shading of his portraits - a depth of knowledge about the technical side of how artists work. Nothing like the DaVinci Code.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series (especially the original four films) reminds me of RI a bit. They start out in a normal reality, but then you get thrown into what feels like a parrallel universe, an alternate reality of sorts.
