Films That Remind You of The Rigorous Intuition Blog?

Postby 8bitagent » Thu Sep 27, 2007 4:43 am

After a long time lurker here, pouring through a lot of Jeff's blog...I always appreciated the youtube movie clips he puts at the top.

And I was thinking, what films out there in one way or another remind you of
Rigorous Intuition?

Here's my list:

Jacob's Latter
Eyes Wide Shut
Manchurian Candidate(2004)
They Live
From Hell
Communion
Network
The Good Shepard
A Scanner Darkly
Shooter
Syriana
Fight Club
The Matrix
What Dreams May Come
The Fisher King
Star Wars Revenge of the Sith
V For Vendetta
The Book Of Life
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
Mulholland Drive
Being John Malkovich
Lost Highway
Fire In The Sky
Leprekhaun
Da Vinci Code
Good Luck And Good Night
Waking Life
Primer
Pi
Perfect Blue(anime film)
The Number 23(tho I thought the film was pretty lame)
Cache
The Ring

and...
Cremaster 3( youve GOT to see the trailer, its one of the most baffling cryptic movies Ive seen, about Master Masons performing necromantic rituals beneath the Chrystler Building http://www.cremaster.net/cc_trailer/cc_trail4.htm )

Curious what films you guys can reccomend that evoke that "feeling".
"Do you know who I am? I am the arm, and I sound like this..."-man from another place, twin peaks fire walk with me

8bit, if you poke around you'll probably find a thread for nearly all the films you listed. Here's a fascinating discussion of Kubrick:

Isn't that the truth?

You really must see Pan's Labyrinth.
