Donnie Darko practically advertises its parapolitical subtext, begs to be deep-analyzed. Just watched the documentary on the young BNP activist, Mark Collett, over at Jeff's "'Young, Nazi and Proud' - profile of a BNP leader" thread. In one segment, Collett was sporting an "88" on one of his t-shirts. The documentary explains the significance of this: "H" is the 8th letter of the a'bet. 88 = HH. <br>What is that red/blue/purple shape at the top of the Southland Tales poster there? is that a flower or is that a pair of hands unfolding?<br><br><br>Also, something new to add...last night I was thinking about the scene where Noah Wiley's character is having the time travel discussion with Donnie....I'm not positive, but I seem to remember that Donnie initiates that conversation, yet it's Noah Wiley that just automatically pulls Roberta Sparrow's book from his bag and hands it to Donnie. <br><br>If Donnie initiated the TT discussion, how would Noah Wiley just happen to have a book on him (right at that moment) that's not only about that very subject, but also written by the "crazy old loony lady that lives up the road"?<br><br>After seeing the obit and remembering this (if I'm correct), I definitely think they're alluding to mind control/MKULTRA. <p></p><i></i>
