Wiki article on the 2008 mini series remake of The Andromeda Strain, scheduled to begin airing on May 26th, Memorial Day in the US

Wiki wrote:The Andromeda Strain is a 2008 science-fiction miniseries, very loosely based on the novel published in 1969 by Michael Crichton about a team of scientists who investigate a deadly disease of extraterrestrial origin. In 2004 the Sci-Fi Channel announced that they would produce a miniseries of The Andromeda Strain. Since that time the project has shifted to the A&E Network.[1]. The miniseries will be made up of 2 two-hour episodes. The mini-series has already been shown on Sky Movies Premiere in the United Kingdom, 3 weeks before it's American Premiere

On August 16th, 2007, cast and crew filmed at the Burnaby, BC campus of Simon Fraser University.[1].

[edit] Plot
After a government satellite lands in Piedmont,Utah, two young adults find it and take it back to the town. Foolishly, they open it and it releases a deadly virus - Codename Andromeda. Andromeda seems to evolve, each cell contacting each other, warning of new lethal weapons. A science team are assembled and set to work in an underground Laboratory, completely sealed off from the outside world. When they finally discover how to defeat the lethal strain, which kills in around 10 seconds, it is a race against time. A team of planes are dropping the gas around the quarantined areas, to kill off Andromeda, however the laboratory has become infected. One of the members of the team was given the order to destroy every single strain of Andromeda held in the lab (there for testing), and she was black mailed to keep one strain. As the virus was evolving, it broke out of the casing and trapped her in a room, whilst setting off the alarm for the whole laboratory. Every floor was sealed, and the man with the pass key to stop a 15 Minute Countdown until self destruction had to get to a different floor and use his pass key and finger print. He begins climbing up an air vent, which is falling apart as Andromeda eats at the rubbers in the facility. He gets knocked down into a pool of radioactive coolant fluid for the nuclear reactor below, killing him. The head scientist now has to take his pass key. Another scientist rushes in to the rescue and cuts off the dead scientists thumb, killing himself in the process, however he managed to throw the thumb up towards the head scientist. He saves the lab from destruction with 7 seconds left, and everyone lives happily ever after, except for the few hundred people that died... The ending is strange, as it shows a man in a spaceship, on film with a government official, placing a strain of Andromeda on a rather big shelf.

Here's an excerpt:

O.K. This article deals with disease transmission in one particular case. This leads me to believe the “wildfire” mentioned in these audio recordings MUST be related to the spread of a specific disease or a bioagent supply. I believe this because, generally, government agencies name situations/events for where they happen or a specific something about them such as “Ground Zero,” etc., which leads me to believe this particular virus/biological whatever must have a super high communicability rate and spread like “wildfire.”

Combine the name of the “protocol” and the latest tidbit of information we’ve been fed and it adds up to a really scary situation.

Because of this, and because you, Andrew, have managed to gather a group of people who are listening and looking and searching to find the truth about Piedmont, I think we all could benefit from gathering some basic information regarding activity which may or may not be related to the situation in Piedmont. What I mean is, maybe we could all help ourselves if we had an idea of what is going on around the country as a whole.

Any one of the folks on here who may have contacts within the government or medical industry/field: Have you seen an increase in the manufacture/order/stockpiling of a particular antibiotic agent, medication or anything of that sort? What about an increase in government purchases of food, fuel or other important commodities? How about suddenly high admission numbers at hospitals? Have administrators at your company/facility/school whatever begun to cancel vacations, put into place new emergency preparedness plans or act nervous, concerned worried?

Everyone else: Start looking at your own home towns. Have you seen any strange activity in your own local governments? How about any military bases that are around your area? Any influx or outgo of personnel which doesn’t seem to have any purpose? It may not seem important, but ANY change in routine could indicate the transmission of “secret” information and/or protocols nationwide by a government that believes the security at Piedmont has been compromised.

Anyone who sees anything like this might want to post it here to give us an idea as to whether this has spread and if the government has spotted it yet.

If we can pinpoint other places that may be about to be “locked up” like Piedmont, perhaps we can tell if this is truly isolated or if it has jumped to the rest of the country.

So, following HMW's method of reverse engineering KWH psyops let's do a google search for Dr. Jeremy Stone. I've never heard of a Dr. Jeremy Stone. First page of Google search results for Dr. Jeremy Stone. The first result on the first page is the Wiki article on Jeremy Stone and what a fascinating man he turns out to be. His father was the famous journalist I.F. Stone

Wiki article on Dr. Jeremy Stone

Wiki wrote:Jeremy J. Stone was president of the Federation of American Scientists from 1970 to 2000, where he led that organization's advocacy initiatives in arms control, human rights, and foreign policy. In 2000, he was succeeded as president by Dr. Henry Kelly. Stone continued his work at a new organization called Catalytic Diplomacy.[1] Stone is the son of the journalist I.F. Stone.

Born in 1935, Stone studied at the Bronx High School of Science (1951-53) during which time he taught Three-dimensional chess at the New School for Social Research.[2] After attending MIT for one year, he graduated from Swarthmore College in June 1957. As a consultant to the RAND Corporation in the summer of 1958, he invented the Cross-Section Method of Linear Programming.[3]

He received a Ph.D. in mathematics from Stanford University in 1960 and joined Stanford Research Institute (SRI) as a research mathematician where he worked on Error Correcting Codes.[4] In 1962, he left SRI to work at Hudson Institute on issues of war and peace.[5]

In 1963, he began working on an arms control proposal for preventing anti-ballistic missile (ABM) systems.[6] In 1964-1966 he was a research associate at the Harvard Center for International Affairs (CFIA) where he wrote two books: Containing the Arms Race: Some Specific Proposals (MIT Press, 1966) and Strategic Persuasion: Arms Control Through Dialogue (Columbia University Press, 1967). He taught mathematics and arms control at Pomona College from 1966-68.

In June of 1970 Stone became the CEO of the Federation of American Scientists (FAS), founded in 1945 by atomic scientists as Federation of Atomic Scientists (FAS). In June 1973, as a consequence of his activism in criticizing Pentagon spending practices, his name appeared as one of the 150 listed on the "enemies" list of President Nixon.

During the 30 years of Stone's stewardship, he and the Federation contributed to policy debates on the nuclear arms race, human rights, ethnic violence and civil conflict, small arms, controlling biological and chemical weapons, energy conservation, global warming, and related subjects.

Several of Stone's arms control initiatives bore fruit. According to the 2002 book Unarmed Forces by Matthew Evangelista, the Russians were calling the ABM Treaty "Jeremy Stone's proposal" as early as 1967.[7] Stone designed and secured Carter Administration approval of a follow-on to SALT II ("Shrink SALT II") which was proposed in secret by President Carter at the 1979 Vienna Summit.[8] He invented a finesse (the Bear Hug Strategy) that may have helped to make START II possible.[9] And he created an entirely new approach ("No One Decision-Maker") to the issue of no-first-use of nuclear weapons.[10]

In the 1970s, Stone and FAS helped catalyze the opening of scientific exchange with China in 1972.[11] He persuaded the American scientific community to set up human rights committees to defend the rights of Russian scientists[12] and was a leading American advocate for Soviet physicist Andrei Sakharov, who in 1976 described Stone as "creative, articulate and brave."[13]

He was instrumental in stopping an illegal U.S. Government program of mail opening by the CIA.[14] He is credited with having made major contributions to changing U.S. policy on Cambodia at a time when that policy had allied the United States to the genocidal Khmer Rouge.[15] He also waged an effective campaign to have the CIA and the KGB work together on issues of common concern.[16] And he once was assigned, by Carl Sagan, the difficult task of determining whether to warn the East Coast of the United States of a possible impending earthquake.[17]

In April 1999, Public Affairs Press published his memoir, "Every Man Should Try": Adventures of a Public Interest Activist, in which he documented his achievements and failures–including those noted above. (The book was published in Russian in March 2004 with an introduction by Academician Evgeny Velikhov.)

In December 1998, he led the first American scientific delegation in 20 years to Iran and, in September of 1999, hosted the return visit of the Iranian Academy of Sciences. Introducing this delegation to a host of scientific organizations in Washington, including the National Academy of Sciences, led to an agreement to restart the (post-1979 revolution) Iranian-American scientific exchange.[18]

After resigning from the Presidency of the Federation of American Scientists on June 1, 2000, he formed the small non-profit, Catalytic Diplomacy, which has worked mainly on Cross-Straits Relations between China and Taiwan; U.S.-Russian arms control; U.S. relations with Iran; and U.S. relations with North Korea.

In 2004, he catalyzed the first public visit to Iran in a quarter century of a U.S. Government official, namely that of James Billington, the Librarian of Congress.[19]

Stone has received the Science and Society Award of the Forum on Physics and Society of the American Physics Society. In June 1985, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Swarthmore College. And, in 1995, the Federation of American Scientists gave Stone its annual Public Service Award.[20]

Seems like a potentially dangerous man. He's been an insider for 30 years. He seems to me like a man that has been torn apart by his conscience his whole career, but decided he could do more good from the inside rather than out. Now it seems he is becoming a bit of a loose canon.

The Nation- Of Scientists and Spies. January 13, 2000

Alterman wrote:After thirty years spent building the Federation of American Scientists into one of the country's most valuable and venerable institutional voices for peace, democracy and real security, Jeremy Stone is leaving to create a new nonprofit called Catalytic Diplomacy. In his new capacity Stone will devote himself to providing countries with strategic advice on how to improve their security relations with the United States. Thirty years is certainly a long time to spend at any one job, and Stone, who turned 64 recently, says he has been itching to leave for more than a decade, and he is looking forward to new challenges unencumbered by the bureaucratic duties he shouldered at FAS. The organization's chairman, Carl Kaysen, adds, "Jeremy himself decided to retire. He reminded us that he had said five years earlier that he wanted to go. I did not resist that decision."

If only that were all there is to the story. But about a year ago, Stone seems to have lost his head. In completing his memoir, Every Man Should Try (Public Affairs), he decided to include a late chapter--one he did not show to the book's pre-publication endorsers--accusing one of FAS's founders and most beloved members, MIT scientist Philip Morrison, of having spied for the Soviets during the Manhattan Project. (He referred to his one-time friend Morrison as "X" in his memoir but then named him when asked by William Broad for a New York Times article this past May.)

It is always sad to see a good man besmirch his own name by false accusation. It is particularly upsetting--and more than a little weird--to see it happen to one whose father, the late, great I.F. Stone, has been the posthumous subject of equally nefarious charges, all based on extremely thin evidence from the bowels of perhaps the most murderous organization in human history, the KGB [see Alterman, "Redbaiting Stone," July 20, 1998]. Make no mistake: Jeremy Stone is a very good man. During the past three decades he has worked tirelessly on a vast array of issues, from ballistic missile technology to the peace process in Cambodia, playing the role of a model citizen and public-spirited scientist. During that period, FAS has grown from a paper organization to a powerful and influential voice on all matters where science, peace, justice and security may be said to interact.

The details of Stone's accusation could hardly be more arcane or complex. They turn on the identity of a spy code-named "Perseus," "Pers" or "Percy," depending on the document, who may be a real person, a composite or a figment of a KGB propaganda exercise. "For many historians," Linda Rothstein observed in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, "the underlying question behind the controversy is not 'Who is Perseus?' but 'Was there a Perseus?'" In fact, the remnants of the KGB have been engaged in a fight with the remnants of the Soviet atomic bomb project to claim credit, as one Izvestia reporter described it, "for a place on the Mount Olympus of history." The alleged scientist/spy may not exist at all.

But Stone decided he had found him. Morrison, who had been cited by Stone's organization in 1981 as "an intellectual and moral anchor of FAS for a third of the century," angrily denied the charge immediately, and Stone grudgingly accepted his denial. In fact, while Stone's "evidence" is shaky in the extreme--he inexplicably construes a generic quote from the alleged Perseus as Morrison's "thumbprint"--Morrison happily points out that in the key KGB-authored document upon which Stone relies, Perseus is described as a veteran of the Spanish Civil War whose parents are from New York. Morrison's parents never lived in New York, and he could hardly have served in Spain, being afflicted with polio.

At first the gray eminences at FAS hoped the incident would just go away. Frank von Hippel, chairman of the FAS Fund, told me, "We thought we could ride this out with Jeremy's apology." But he soon discovered "continuing unhappiness among the older and senior people associated with the FAS." Numerous scientists, funders, friends and colleagues of Morrison wanted a public rebuke of its president. Historian and FAS secretary Priscilla McMillan declared the accusation "a smear in search of a crime, a criminal and some evidence." Ironically, McMillan had worked with Stone to clear the names of atomic scientists Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi and Niels Bohr from a similarly slipshod accusation by KGB man Pavel Sudoplatov, along with Jerrold and Leona Schecter, that Time magazine and the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour foolishly trumpeted in 1994. (It was this false accusation, Stone explains in his memoir, that inspired his thinking about the spy's identity in the first place.)

But it was Stone himself who refused to let the issue die. Even after his departure from FAS had been announced and his new organization had begun--he is currently working half time for each--Stone returned to an FAS executive committee meeting in November, accompanied by his lawyer, former Arms Control and Disarmament Agency director Paul Warnke, and stunned everyone by repeating his accusation. According to one witness, Stone announced, "I don't believe my own retraction, and I think history will prove me right."

When I bring up the November meeting with von Hippel, who, like Kaysen and Stone himself, had been portraying the departure as entirely amicable, his voice drops a few decibels. "I had hoped that would not come out," he admits. Stone's decision to reopen the matter, says von Hippel, was "just crazy and very counterproductive. And if there is any chance that there will be a recurrence [of the charges], people will be relieved if it happened after he left FAS."

Morrison, meanwhile, was initially furious at having to spend so much time defending his good name against the accusations of a good friend. Now he says he is worried that Stone may be heading toward an emotional breakdown. "He simply has an obsession that he cannot shake," says Morrison. "It is a great pity," the 84-year-old astrophysicist adds. "Jeremy has done great things."

Jeremy Stone is now 72. He's an old man with stories to tell. He seems to have a desire for history to view him in a friendly way and it is not hard to imagine that he might have some desire to take after the old man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I.F._Stone

Definitely a man worth preemptively innoculating the public against.

A&E Network’s official website for The Andromeda Strain

Mikael Salomon directs The Andromeda Strain. Among some of his more recent credits is The Company and The Agency , the first of which was a miniseries about the formation of the CIA and the second of which was a tv series about the inner workings of the post cold war CIA. Salomon has all the hallmarks of an intelligence asset.

The fact that The Andromeda Strain miniseries begins on Memorial Day fits neatly into Hugh's theory about bad news on the ground (dead American soldiers) = Media woo party is just the cherry on top.

I just killed about 2 hours of my life with this, two hours I'll never get back, and really I just scratched the surface. I was going to dig around Michael Crichton's career as he also seems like he could easily be an intelligence asset. But I've had enough of the KWH game for today.

Michael Crichton could very easily be an intelligence asset. The Andromeda Strain came out the first time while the US was openly engaged in biological warfare activities. Mr. Crichton's script spread the "virus" that of some deadly disease spread it may have come from outer space. Now he is providing a "scientific" basis for global warming denial through his novel "State of Fear".

Turns out Michael Crichton is directly linked to a MKULTRA perpetrator:
In 1970 Delgado's field was engulfed in a scandal triggered by Frank Ervin and Vernon Mark, two researchers at Harvard Medical School with whom Delgado briefly collaborated. (One of Ervin's students was Michael Crichton, who wrote The Terminal Man. The best-seller, about a bionic experiment gone awry, was inspired by the research of Ervin, Mark and Delgado.)

Brain Implants

A CIA memorandum for MKULTRA Subproject 142 describes the control of animals through stimulation of brain electrodes. The overall goal was clear; to control the mind and behavior, and to create dissociation through a combination of drugs, sensory isolation, hypnosis, brain electrode implants, electric shock, and beaming different kinds of energy at the brain. The ability to create limited, controlled amnesia through a variety of methods was a primary goal of the mind control programs. P. 87

Brain electrode experiments were also conducted in humans. Dr. Jose Delgado, [51][52][53][54][55][56][57] a neurosurgeon and professor at Yale, received funding for brain electrode research on children and adults. He was able to control the movements of his animal and human subjects by pushing buttons on a remote transmitter box. In one paper, Dr. Delgado describes the cats as "mechanical toys." An 11-year old boy underwent a partial change of identity upon remote stimulation of his brain electrode: [58] "Electrical stimulation of the superior temporal convolution induced feminine striving and confusion about his own sexual identity. For example, the patient, an 11-year old boy, said, 'I was thinking whether I was a boy or a girl, which one I'd like to be,' and 'I'd like to be a girl.' After one of the stimulations the patient suddenly began to discuss his desire to get married to the male interviewer. Temporal-lobe stimulation produced in another patient open manifestations and declarations of pleasure, accompanied by giggles and joking with the therapist. In two adult female patients stimulation of the same region was followed by discussion of marriage and expression of a wish to marry the therapist. P. 87-89

Brain electrode research was also conducted independently at Harvard by Dr. Delgado's coauthors, Drs. Vernon Mark, Frank Ervin, and William Sweet. Mark and Ervin describe implanting brain electrodes in a large number of patients at Harvard hospitals. A patient named Jennie was 14 years old when they put electrodes in her brain. In Mark and Ervin's Violence and the Brain, [59] photographs show 18-year old Julia smiling, angry, or pounding the wall depending on which button is being pushed on the transmitter box sending signals to her brain electrodes. P. 89-91

Thanks for the info, bph. Excellent.

I think you realized this or you wouldn't have posted this but I'm compelled to declare that keyword hijacking (KH) isn't a game at all but is:
a serious spook counterpropaganda tactic used to
-misdirect away from or
-subliminally frame
-politically dangerous subjects
....but which can also be recognized and reverse-engineered to find the covertly embedded intended attitudes.

I think you are right that it is useful to power to hijack the name and integrity of Federation of American Scientists founder, Jeremy Stone, for their virus fright film much the same way Steven CIA Spielberg hijacked the integrity of Jacque Vallee to affirm the existence of aliens in 'Close Encounters.'

But in the spirit of leaving no Stone unturned, I think there's more.

Before following up on your leads to:
1) virus movie propaganda
2) virus movie marketing
3) 1969 'Andromeda Strain'
4) Michael CIA Crichton (damn right)
5) cometary panspermia (as an alibi, real or not)

... allow me to suggest you were misdirected with a KH decoy meant to be easy to find and to negatively frame the REAL target, a fairly recent development in psy-ops (late 1990s) which is adapting to those of us who know to look at all.

Because in the 1990s the internet increased general knowledge about scandals, the psy-ops movies became more sophisticated by adding an easy-to-find decoy scandal for the new crop of 'conspiracy culture-sensitized minds' to find so that the subliminal stuff would remain subliminal.

You've got rich material to analyze here for your two-hours effort, bph, but I think you took the bait offered with the perfect match on character name, "Jeremy Stone."

Be wary of perfect matches as dangles. They might be used to lead you somewhere and nest a hidden message. Partial matches (usually last names) are mnemonically good enough for KH and have been standard operating procedure for years.

Keeping things subliminal is a psy-ops goal to exploit the brain's non-critical acceptance of what is perceived but isn't in the crosshairs of critical thinking, like parafoveal priming outside the center of our field of vision being used for product placement advertising.

A JFK disinfo 'documentary' called 'Oswald's Ghost' was just run on PBS and it was made by Robert Stone.
Robert Stone is a lying sack of fecal material working for spooks and his film was full of CIA shills pretending to be neutral experts.

That's not a coincidence. The name Stone tied to JFK is a problem for CIA.

So consider the associations with the last name "Stone."

This 45th anniversary year of the murder of JFK is also a year for discrediting Oliver Stone who made his 1991 movie, 'JFK,' opening this CIA liability up like a wound that's never closed.

Notice the discrediting quotes from the suprise late-in-life spy controversy which only Jeremy Stone declares to be true.

"I had hoped that would not come out," he admits. Stone's decision to reopen the matter, says von Hippel, was "just crazy and very counterproductive.
......
Now he says he is worried that Stone may be heading toward an emotional breakdown. "He simply has an obsession that he cannot shake," says Morrison.[/b] "It is a great pity," the 84-year-old astrophysicist adds. "Jeremy has done great things."

Hmmm. Now that sounds familiar. This is the discrediting line vehemently dumped on Oliver Stone by CIA media even before his 'JFK' film came out in December, 1991.
And it is time for this to happen again but perhaps in a more subtle way.

The 1991 Michael Fox movie called 'Doc Hollywood' is nothing but a not so subtle negative framing of Oliver Stone. Fox plays a Dr. Benjamin Stone stuck in a small town by accident and he spends lots of time walking around town embarrassed to have a pig on a rope.
People keep going by saying, "Nice pig, Dr. Stone."

I won't go into the rest of the negative framing of Stone and JFK conspiracy meme-reversals in this movie but you can see the motive, timing, and method of subliminal negative framing of Oliver Stone.

-------------------------------------------------------------- Now for the other stuff you found.

1) virus movie propaganda

The US government (USG) considers the public's attitudes towards vaccines and federal emergency rules about them to be related to national security.

This national security subject regularly has propaganda applied to remind us of serious dangers and who can save you, the USG.

The trick is to get us to take it seriously without taking it so seriously we research it and find-
the awful history of human experiments, US biological warfare, CIA biological warfare against Korea and Cuba, Gulf War Syndrome, Fort Detrick, suspicions about where AIDS came from, similiar suspicions about accidental or intentional releases from Plum Island like Lyme Disease and West Nile Virus, vaccine profiteering on vaccines that can't even match a mutation, etc.

Because all that would tend to make us see the USG as the biggest source of any dangers to us.

So when recent negative attitudes about vaccines and the USG develop-
>links between vaccines and autism in court cases
>FDA scandals involving Merck
...this is countered with movies like 'I am Legend' and this revived 'Andromeda Strain' series, a rerun of a 1969 propaganda campaign on the topic because of exposure of US bioweapon stocks.

In 1994 we got the Dustin Hoffman movie, 'Outbreak,' which makes Fort Detrick types our saviors (parasocial interaction with beloved actor complete with love story) and heavily emphasizes the deadly source as being a monkey with lengthy chase and catch sequence despite a vague backstory about a Pentagon bioweapon cover-up in the 1960s.

All a clever way to evoke 'rumors' and then dispel them vigorously in an idealized narrative that applies negative framing to whistleblower narratives and positive framing to USG narratives.

------------------------------------------------------

2) virus movie marketing

The use of viral marketing is all too appropriate for a virus movie.
But this movie series and blog look like a joint psy-ops effort by Homeland inSecurity and the FBI.

Clever to use a big holiday crowd time like Memorial Day to make people worry about viruses. All those people! Maximizing fear during heavy personal exposure is also used to evoke generic fear and lately evoking 9/11 PTSD with airplane safety scare stories around holidays when average people fly the most.

But the text on the 'Piedmont' blog is coaxing the observant young blog participants to act like FBI informers looking around their environment to notice what's what and be vigilant. And then post their findings!

This looks very much like a campaign to recruit look-outs against 'eco-terrorists' and 'extremists' that the Thought Crime legislation (HR1955) is meant to address. But done covertly in the guise of a game.

And doing this just before (s)Election 2008 convention protest season would be very strategic, too.

I'm pretty certain the "comments" are planted to direct readers in the intended mnemonic direction by the FBI.
Note these FBI informer training "comments" being virally marketed-

I think we all could benefit from gathering some basic information regarding activity which may or may not be related to the situation...
.....
What I mean is, maybe we could all help ourselves if we had an idea of what is going on around the country as a whole.
.....
Any one of the folks on here who may have contacts within...
Have you seen an increase in...
What about an increase in...
...or act nervous, concerned worried?
Everyone else: Start looking at your own home towns. Have you seen any strange activity...
.....
Any influx or outgo of personnel which doesn’t seem to have any purpose? It may not seem important, but ANY change in routine could indicate the transmission of “secret” information...
.....
Anyone who sees anything like this might want to post it here to give us an idea as to whether this has spread and if the government has spotted it yet.

If we can pinpoint other places...

Amazing this stuff doesn't come with an address to send away for a badge.
Here's some political subtext-

O.K. This article deals with disease transmission in one particular case. This leads me to believe the “wildfire” mentioned in these audio recordings MUST be related to the spread of a specific disease or a bioagent supply.

O.K.!! Now we get it! As Austin Powers said, “Thanks, Agent Exposition.”

The term "prairie fire" was adopted by the Weather Underground to describe their anti-imperialist ideology, just what the Pentagon has declared is their second biggest enemy after "Islamic extremism."

In 1974 the Weather Underground printed up and distributed a 151-page booklet called 'Prairie Fire: The Politics of Revolutionary Anti-Imperialism' and it was distributed by supporters around the US. I've got a copy in my propaganda collection right next to J. Edgar Hoover's 'Masters of Deceit' and the Declaration of Independence.

The FBI is concerned that the sparks of the 1960s could become "wild fires" and spread just like a virus so they are co-opting youth to be their eyes and ears, as usual.

Notice how perfect the analog of 'fire-prevention' and 'virus-containment' are in social control media and memetic-engineering.
-----------------------------------------------------------

3) 1969 'Andromeda Strain'

Michael Crichton is a spook author.
In 1969 he wrote a decoy novel called 'Andromeda Strain' about a deadly virus...from outer space...which became a movie. But the deadly virus problem at the time came from the US government.

On page four of my June 1970 Dell first printing paperback copy of ‘Andromeda Strain’ Michael Crichton thanks a huge list of military-intelligence and military think-tank personnel for research help. The USG was heavily involved in the writing of this novel.

In 1969 there were huge scandals and public outrage over Pentagon plans to dump nerve gas into the ocean and Congress turned their gaze on just what the hell the Pentagon had been doing for years.

In 1969 there was a nerve gas accident at Okinawa.

In 1969 NY Congressman Richard D. McCarthy published a book called 'The Ultimate Folly: War by Pestilence, Asphyxiation, and Defoliation' detailing the Pentagon's use of chemical and biological weapons in Vietnam and the history of scary Pentagon stockpiles both the Congress and American people had been kept in the dark about.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) Michael CIA Crichton (damn right)

The USG (Pentagon and CIA) needs good writers who can convincingly write about areas of science, technology, and military culture who can produce propaganda for those dangerous people called readers who might otherwise learn things they shouldn't.

Michael Crichton is one of those USG authors along with Tom 'Hunt for Red October' Clancy.
Crichton mirrors real world politics by turning it into science fiction with subliminal USG propaganda embedded.

Best-selling author Michael Crichton helps the USG cover two demographics by writing books that can then be turned into movies by other USG spook creatives like Steven CIA Spielberg.

'Jurassic Park' is an excellent example. That book mirrors Jonestown with keywords and themes and meme-reversals but applies them to another sensational context, a propaganda technique called "displacement."

The movie, being seen by kids, included negative framing of women and positive framing of men plus heavy violence-desensitization, a standard nationalist-militarist value conditioning formula.

Crichton helped introduce the meme of the female eco-terrorist the year before the UN formed a climate-change organization in 1988, the one Al Gore just won a Nobel prize with.

Crichton's 1987 book 'The Sphere' pretends to be about scientists examining a UFO on the bottom of the ocean but Crichton's themes are really all about planet Earth and includes some memetic lubricant and fire-extinguishing foam for the mind as preparatory propaganda for the imminent acknowledgement that Male Warrior Industrial culture had... actually broken the planet.

In Crichton's 1980 book, 'Congo,' he clumsily uses a science fiction story about "intelligent killer gorillas" to mask the reality of realpolitic Cold war proxy wars for minerals in Africa and the US's training of...guerillas.

Yes, all of Michael Crichton's books are like this.
And it all started with his helping out the USG in 1969 with 'The Andromeda Strain' when he made us look to the stars as the source of our fears instead of at the Pentagon.

Which leads to the next topic, "cometary panspermia."
-------------------------------------------------------------------

5) cometary panspermia (as an alibi, real or not)

I tried to explain this in the infamous locked- and split-by-Jeff thread about the "Red Rain of Kerala." Some of you terribly misunderstood this and username monster here at RI has a sig quote dissing me because of it to this day.

For ages governments have been trying to convince those they ruled to look to the sky for signs that either affirm their authority or absolve them of liabilities.

The same tactic has been used by the Pentagon and CIA ever since WWII to provide diversion, confusion, and even false hope to the public who would be horrified to know just what military-intelligence does behind their backs.

The topics of UFO's and 'alien abductions' have served as useful conceptual functions-
> 'kitchen junk drawers' in which to throw anything not understood which might instead be linked to the Pentagon and CIA
>a kind of accountability pressure release valve for suspicions
>a source of pseudo-scientific hope and optimism that something smarter than us might saves us from our bad selves.

As I hope the historical context of the 1969 Pentagon biological weapons scare and Michael Crichton's 'Andromeda Strain' book and movie illustrate, it is very useful to have a "maybe" explanation for anything really bad that happens biologically that takes the heat off of military-intelligence and all their deadly technology laboratories.

"Cometary panspermia," real or not, provides a wild card kind of 'get out of jail free' pass to counter public suspicions and outrage should an unexplained outbreak of some kind occur.

So it is in the interests of both the US and UK to have academics keeping the "cometary panspermia" topic alive and credible, just as it is in their interests to have disinfo decoy science like "ESP" and "PSI" and "remote viewing" institutionalized in academia to serve as a lure away from understanding mass psychology and psy-ops media.

Remember, there are USG spooks and academic shills doing blatant denying of the laws of physics to sustain 9/11 disinformation. This can happen to any topic that is useful for the national security purposes I've described here.

The USG is already burdened with its very real criminal past in the area of biological weapons and suspicions (unfounded or not) about the source of AIDS. Many Africans are justifiably suspicious of western medicine and even are reluctant to use condoms from the west due to hearing history or rumors of eugenic intent.

One of the strangest confluences of anti-USG suspicions, show biz, spirituality, and alternative medicine is the website of Dr. Len Horowitz whose books have been mirrored to make movies with biological disaster themes including 'I am Legend' and Steven Seagall's 'The Patriot.'

http://www.drlenhorowitz.com/books.htm

Horowitz writes about CIA Hollywood's role in perception management on these topics.

I haven't seen or read this expose on CIA-Hollywood to know if it is ground-breakingly sincere or fake whistleblowing to muddy the waters.

It looks genuine because of this list of Horowitz' websites he claims were hacked by the Pentagon. The first two have keywords and themes that ended up in the Steven Seagal movie, 'The Patriot.' Horowitz wrote an article about his work being ripped off by a CIA agent who met with him and then helped funnel Horowitz' work to Hollywood.

Not surprisingly, Horowitz says that he was negatively framed by a movie character representing him. Sound familiar?
Yes, that's one of the tactics of counterpropaganda I've pointed out in movie psy-ops many times, hijackings of all kinds and subliminal negative framing of whistleblowers.

A very interesting article that ties together public health policy, national security, Hollywood, and CIA-

Suffice it to say, Steven Seagal's movie "The Patriot, " based on the above and evidence below, best reflects a conpiracy to conduct economic espionage and, at the same time, propagate disinformation in newsworthy areas critical to U.S. national security.

This website was supported by a group of independent researchers, journalists, and publishers spearheaded by The Idaho Observer. It made a major contribution to public health when, during the Fall of 2003, the Bush administration demanded more than 1 million persons be vaccinated with the antiquated and risky smallpox vaccine. The effort was halted largely due to a national risk awareness campaign administered by this very group of health and political activists. Unfortunately, you are no longer able to read this website to learn the secreted facts and risks of smallpox vaccination.

The American Red Cross (ARC) is widely considered a great American institution. It is generally thought of as among the world’s premier humanitarian organizations. Clearly, almost everyone thinks of it as a life-saving agency. Most people know this non-governmental organization (NGO) to be heavily dependant upon the blood and currency generously donated by the American people. But, what if all of the above is untrue? What if everything you think you know about the American Red Cross is a ghastly nauseating lie?

These events were predictable, predicted, and well planned. Much like the ghastly attack on Pearl Harbor. That attack largely triggered World War II. ... allow me to suggest you were misdirected with a KH decoy meant to be easy to find and to negatively frame the REAL target, a fairly recent development in psy-ops (late 1990s) which is adapting to those of us who know to look at all.

Yes, but what about those of us who now know to look for the KH decoys?

I have not read the novel, nor have I seen the original movie so I don't really know how to take the character of Dr. Stone. Apparently the miniseries remake is only loosely based on the novel and takes some creative liberties. Care to make any predictions about how the Stone character will be portrayed?

...And it is time for this to happen again but perhaps in a more subtle way.

So, are you suggesting that Eric Alterman and The Nation are in on this as well? If I understand you correctly, your theory is as follows:

The USG/CIA entities responsible for designing and implementing counterpropaganda in collusion with one or some combination of the following; A&E Networks, the executive producers Ridley and Tony Scott and Frank Darabont, and the director, mikael Salomon, are opportunistically using the character name Jeremy Stone from the 1969 novel Andromeda Strain as a keyword hijack decoy designed to occupy the critical faculties of the tiny portion of the population "who know to look at all" so that the real subliminal negative framing of Oliver Stone in The Nation article by Eric Alterman can have it's covert effect?

My intent is not to erect a strawman and knock it down. I just want to make sure I am understanding you. I will say that I was lead to The Nation article and the viral marketing blog via the wiki articles on The Andromeda strain. It was very easy to get to. So Google and Wikipedia are in on it too.

Partial matches (usually last names) are mnemonically good enough for KH and have been standard operating procedure for years.

In fact, some digging around for andromedia turned up some interesting stuff, and andromeda according to one site I visited is a type of nazi reverse engineered cigar shaped ufo, but I chose to go with the Jeremy Stone kwh angle.

Honestly, I like my theory better. Think about what Dr. Jeremy Stone must be privy to. It is easy for me to imagine the paranoid USG being worried about what he might reveal. And what about the theory that the original character in the novel was a KWH of Dr. Stone's name? The real Dr. Jeremy Stone took an interest in opposing biological warfare. The fact that the character Dr. Jeremy Stone and the real Dr. Jeremy Stone share so much in common seems to enhance the effect of blurring the line between reality and fiction. In the audience's mind the two become conflated with one another and a nagging sense of confusion remains. Most people faced with confusion tune out. The viral marketing blog further reinforces the feeling of being confused by what is fiction and what is reality. I think this is a more compelling psyops purpose.

Virus propaganda? alright. Don't forget 1971's The Omega Man. IMDB-The Omega Man

Viral marketing blog as recruitment? I assumed that the whathappenedinpiedmont blog is 100% contrived. I found it somewhat creepy to be reading comments on a blog that I knew were all invented. I know that seems strange, but that was my reaction. It felt like wandering around an abandoned amusement park.

We agree on Michael Crichton. Thanks for the info. You too AD.

Your theory on panspermia is a stretch, but then again, for a public that is increasingly confused about what is relaity and what is fiction maybe it is not so farfetched. Like Barracuda, I believe most people are pretty gullible and malleable. Nonetheless, I don't think you can credibly dismiss the argument that the scientific soundness of the theory of panspermia is relevant to determining whether it is suitable for counterproaganda purposes or not. People are stupid, but they're not stupid.

"Cometary panspermia," real or not, provides a wild card kind of 'get out of jail free' pass to counter public suspicions and outrage should an unexplained outbreak of some kind occur.

You really think this would work? Even as just a maybe?

...KH isn't a game at all...

What if it is? You say you have spent thousands of hours researching counterpropaganda techniques, thousands of hours. One of the things we all seem to share in common is the love of a good mystery, a riddle, a puzzle to solve. We want to find out the truth, we're curious. You would agree that the best psyops are designed to achieve several objectives at once? What if one of those objectives is to "eat up the bandwidth" of "those who know to look at all"?

Be wary of perfect matches as dangles. They might be used to lead you somewhere and nest a hidden message. Partial matches (usually last names) are mnemonically good enough for KH and have been standard operating procedure for years.

Oh, Jesus, that is just plain hilarious. Might have to use it as a sig, in fact.

Thanks for making me smile, Hugh. I didn't quite LOL, but it was close!

Welcome to my morning
Welcome to my day

I'm the one responsible
I made it just this way

To make myself some pictures
See what they might bring

I think I made it perfectly
I wouldn't change a thing....

Ya know Hugh... I can't help but notice a pattern to the way you leave threads where we are debating your theories hanging. I've never called you on it because I have all the sympathy in the world for the notion that there just is not enough time in the day to keep up with things and you have not been making any other posts so clearly you are tied up elsewhere or are just taking a break. Honestly, I don't know how you find as much time as you do. Nonetheless, there is this pattern...

Are you going to at least watch The Andromeda Strain remake?

Hugh had my attention until he decided that the REAL KWH wasn't about this potentially dangerous bio-weapons related person. No, in fact, HE was only there to distract you from a movie you and everyone else already saw fifteen years ago.

Jesus.

fortunately for the CIA Dr. Stone is there to distract us from one of the most famous humans to have ever lived and his most infamous movie.

to reiterate:

Well only KH examples Hugh himself comes up with are valid. If other people follow the exact same logic they still can't do it apparently.

Good gravy, "call me out" on "leaving threads?"
You are right, I haven't been on this board for four days.

A little catch-up.
Rather than dabble daily with one-liners and emoticons I tend to post in depth and at length taking rare breaks. It sometimes takes hours to research and format a post (my hated fonts etc.) and correct and augment (like this) so by the time someone who actually has serious questions comes along I'm whupped. But I try to still support what I've posited.

I'm going to put lots less time into this board now. (Trolls note with glee.)
The world wide world mandates this change.

The time it took to write my first post here in your thread was draining.
Today I'd clarify some of what I introduced when I saw you'd found some good stuff.

Like...
The value of a name changes over time as events change. In 1969 Jeremy Stone was THE real Stone to hijack in a virus movie.

But in 2008, an assassination anniversary year, Oliver Stone is THE Stone to dilute/frame in a psyops movie. Was that intended or just a useful tag-along with a 1969 virus movie rehash? I wanted to go into that more but spent my time on the other topics more specific to this 'Andromeda Strain' rehash.

Of course I know that convenient alignments happen, too.
I really don't posit as simplistic a KH model as some think.
I've found many many unquestionable KH examples, some only probable examples, and some rather iffy questionable ones. Some intentional KH is kinda lame but still deliberate.

Sometimes...KH happens...it just works out that way...lucky for perps and not for us.
Like the 5/24/08 story about an ACLU racial justice suit in the hometown of "Mockingbird author" Harper Lee.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080524/ap_on_re_us/racism_lawsuit
Well, Operation Mockingbird remains the CIA's Achilles Heel and this book/movie is the easiest way to dilute that keyword.
I've been posting for a few years about "Mockingbird authors" like Richard Condon, Robin Moore, Michael Crichton, Tom Clancy, and now Lawrence Wright.

The ACLU has been a candidate for CIA infiltration ala Daniel Sheehan for decades, just like the AFL-CIO. Angus MacKenzie wrote a 1997 book describing how the CIA co-opted the ACLU's attorneys over years of FOIA exemption negotiations.

But maybe the ACLU is just cleverly exploiting this famous setting and keyword for benign purposes and so paying special attention to pissed off parents in that town.
But there are lots of American towns with the same problem and *by coincidence* the ACLU is using this town for a lawsuit.

Lots of possibilities from benign to evil there. But the power of the keyword is obvious.

Perhaps the new 'Andromeda Strain' verision (with nuclear death added-oh boy) and FBI informer training blog are indeed the prime focus and Jeremy Stone is just a left-over that conveniently works out as additional KH.
But it is still possible as the other Stone examples I gave suggest and below I've gone into the bait-KH idea some.

This was my original intent-
to introduce the bait-KH/bait-theme tactic and show that Oliver Stone has gotten framed from every direction so look out for it.

KH really is done quite cleverly and deliberately. I've found stuff the last four days that made me shake my head in disgust. Like the 1998 movie, 'Krippendorf's Tribe' and the real Klaus Krippendorf who wrote an importantly subversive paper in 1995 called 'Undoing Power' about doing just that with language.

What do you suppose is really going with today's story about "Fonzie" in 1974 since I just posted on that as a KH of JFK investigator, Gaeton Fonzi,' a few weeks ago?

>I mentioned the Fonzie/Fonzi KH here at RI on 4/29/08.
>The wiki image I linked to was nominated for deletion from Wiki on 5/4/08.
>I mentioned this KH again here at RI on 5/6/08.
>The wiki image I linked to was deleted from Wiki on 5/10/08.
>TODAY, 5/23/08, Yahoo featured on its front page a LiveScience.com article on 'Why do we use the thumbs up sign?' and it reminded us of..."Fonzie" in 1974!

Coincidence? Hard to say. I doubt it.

I think there's a priority list of counterpropaganda items to deploy, like a que of planes lined up to take off at an airport, and other things came ahead of this KH but it was gotten too when the right viral marketing device came up, John McCain giving his thumbs up on his recent physical, a very military pilot kind of gesture, too.

Basic KH explication is time-consuming enough.
It would take me forever to go into examples of first-layer easy KH masking deeper second-layer stuff. But that's a real tactic. Keeping some stuff subliminal is important.
And the context for subtler mnemonic hooks gets even harder to describe and point at in an overt staring-right-at-it way in an RI thread.

I'll throw out a couple of examples of bait used on top of subliminal stuff-

This easy bait tactic was used in Mel Gibson's 'Conspiracy Theory' with easy stuff like him hiding in a theater ala Lee Harvey Oswald and the movie screen showing a pale horse ala 'Behold a Pale Horse.' But there was also subliminal discrediting of a new whistleblower in the Martin Luther King case with a quick reference to a television show running for that purpose, 'Spawn,' and decoys for people in the horse business and in the Ambassador Hotel who handled Sirhan Sirhan to make him the RFK patsy. "He made good coffee" being used to prove at the end that Mel Gibson was innocent. Remember? Sirhan and the Girl in the Polka Dot Dress being seen by witnesses together while he got her coffee?

Bill Murray has been cast in movies just for his name using this bait device like 'The Man Who Knew Too Little.' And Bill Murray has been cast just to hype the movie's title as in 'What About Bob?'

Both of these movies served as a decoy for Richard Case Nagell's story (his CIA contact only known as "Bob") and Dick Russell's book about Nagell's knowledge of LH Oswald's intel career called 'The Man Who Knew Too Much.'
The movie'...Too Little' showed us the story line as clearly that of the UK's Profumo Affair, just as clear as day for anyone who knows their Big Scandals In History.
This was a clever way to tie Russell's book title to ANOTHER famous 1963 scandal. That first-level mirror in the plot was mnemonic bait for other purposes. Multiple other purposes.

There's YET another CIA scandal besides this Nagell/JFK decoy involved, the Unabomber.
Bill Murray's character spends the whole movie surrounded by real spy cloak-and-dagger stuff but thinking he's a participant in a kind of game show. He's completely ignorant (and innocent) of the spooks.
That's the subliminal framing part that the Profumo bait is hiding.

The year that this Bill Murray (keyword "Murray") movie came out (1997) is when the Unabomber was being psychologically scrutinized before his trial...
http://paulcooijmans.lunarpages.com/psy/unabombreport.html
...and the link to Dr. Murray and CIA's MKULTRA was the real thing to hide, not the Profumo Affair. More people knowing about Dr. Murray abusing young Ted at Harvard would harm that 'lone gunman/lone psychopath' meme when the CIA's dirty laundry was spilling out all over in the internet 1990s.

I suspect that casting Bill Murray (again) as an American in Tokyo in 'Lost in Translation' served as an amplifying sequel to this mirror of the Richard Case Nagell story, too. Nagell started his intel career and knew Oswald to be doing the same...in Japan.

The Coen brothers have used this easy subtext device in 'O, Brother' with the oh-so-eggheadidy allusions to 'Ulysses' pandering to critic's snob appeal while Dorothy Proctor's McGill experiment lawsuit (for drug testing on her back when she was a teenager in prison and prone to breaking out) and military recruiting themes about fickle women endangering security go by under the wire in a movie of scenes that were really just every southern movie cliche all strung together, practically a satire of the genre if it wasn't for that high-brow bait about 'Ulysses.'

'O, Brother' is really about the keyword "McGill" and discrediting women, typical pro-male warrior propaganda and CIA-scandal counterpropaganda goals.

Back in 1989 there was a decoy movie called 'Listen to Me' that was made to discredit another woman with a lawsuit against CIA for MKULTRA. They even cast Kirk Cameron (Cameron? Get it? Like Donald Ewen Cameron?) in the male lead.
That was the movie that had a sign on a college campus that said "Join the Contras."
Not too subtle...

The entire 'O, Brother' plot is based around the name, "McGill," (as Clooney keeps introducing himself) and his dangerously breaking out of prison just to prevent a fickle wife from changing this last name to something else by remarrying another man.

Uh, that's not how Ulysses really goes. In the epic tale the wife endangered her own safety out of total loyalty to her absent husband.

And Cyclops isn't the only 'one-eyed monster' that's gotten a man into trouble, to cite one triple-meaning scene, with John Goodman taking a club to Clooney's pal while Clooney watches unheeding of the blow about to knock him out. And the gag with the sherrif tracking him by his unmanly vanity and obsession with pomade is another reminder about gender and safety.

Honestly, I don't know how you find as much time as you do. Nonetheless, there is this pattern...

"This pattern..." What, because I only put a coupla dozen hours into posting about 'Being There' with you? Oh, c'mon. The hours, yikes. And I'm not spending this much time here anymore. I've spent way too much time here.

Heck, I haven't even finished posting about the production history of Soderburgh/Clooney's 'Solaris' on a thread from four days ago and the gender recruiting/counterpropaganda themes there. A complex situation. Interesting Cold War politics around the original author, too. Phillip K. Dick once called him a commie front in disguise. Ahoo-ah.

There's too much else to do offline now. Glad atleast some perception management techniques are on the table to look into-
>counterpropaganda
>keyword hijacking
>subliminal framing
>inoculation theory
>interference theory
>elaboration liklihood model

Are you going to at least watch The Andromeda Strain remake?

Nope. I avoid watching TV like a poisonous snake.
I analyze movie videos and that's toxic enough.

If you do, let us know whatcha see. I like reading your analysis, bph.

(on edit: added to and clarified the Bill Murray stuff)

Coincidence?

No because a coincidence is when apparently related things are actually unrelated, not when you go out of your way pick and chose random things that no sane person would even make a connection between and then claim they're related.
