Oddly, this was published two months before Carl Bernstein's 10/20/77 Rolling Stone article based on a leaked portion of the Senate Church Committee Final Report which had been suppressed since it outed most of the mainstream media as CIA territory.
Why "oddly?"
Because today Joe Trento says the CIA did not kill JFK, a position which is absurd due to extensive documentation that CIA people spent months 'patsying up' Lee Harvey Oswald. This makes me wonder if Trento's 8/1977 article was a limited hangout forestalling device to take the edge off of Bernstein's far more devastating exposure of widespread CIA media.
