I read about your show. What do you mean by this:

At the (opening) reception, audiences will have the opportunity to program Schirmer, or alter her mental state, by interacting with the elements in one particular piece.

Can you explain more about this? Just really curious....

Hi SW,
It's a performance piece. I'm placing the viewer in the role of handler, using items that are for the general public fairly potent mnemonics. I'm just adding more specific trigger cues and more disturbing experiences to them. Average Joe will get some meaning even if he has no idea what the more specific content is about or why it would affect anyone, but the question will be there.

I don't want to give it all away. I'll fill in the details after the opening.
