LilyPat,

Your paintings are amazing. I hope you make it.

Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

annie, thank you so much for the compliment. I just read back over the last page and realized that the jurying deadline is in just over 2 weeks  And I'm in FL for at least another week. Not sure I can get the idea that's currently haunting me out onto canvas by the 15th, but I'll sure try. If not, I have others that I can submit. Also, these days I'm the sort of artist who needs a deadline to get myselves into the studio, so it may turn out to be a Good Thing.

LilyPat, that is good news, (and even better still if you get into the studio) please know I had hoped to have more than one of your pieces!

LBO, that is what I was lead to believe. I will set you up in my studio if necessary.

I can always film it in advance and project it in the gallery. That might be optimal in fact.

Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock.

I finally got around to posting this last year's collection at my site:

It is so much work, (and money) isn't it?

Aw, crap! I'm just back from vacation and rushing around doing the Xmas shopping that has to be mailed off and still haven't begun the painting that I want to send/bring for the show :( (Did buy the canvas, but haven't had time to even stick my nose into the studio since then)

Any chance that I could send you photos of similar work and a detailed description (maybe plus sketch) of the new one? Failing that, I guess I could finally get some high-quality Giclées made of the 3 MC-related paintings in that series and mail them if you accept them. I won't mail the 1st 3 originals in that series anywhere, so I've known for some time that I'm gonna have to spring for prints...

I'm so glad Maddy. I can't wait to meet folks live and in person. The joy of First Thursday must not be missed. I've been telling people around here about the show and they think it's a great idea. There are some Seattle J. Wells fans expecting photo montages to be on view, nudge, nudge.

LilyPat, do I even need to jury you in? No need really, but I'd still love to hear what you plan to do. You're a great painter.

Whew! <faints with relief> I'm at that stage of pre-Xmas rush where even a slight escalation in my stress level may result in my head exploding, so thank you SO MUCH for the reprieve

I'm actually looking forward to doing this painting--it's kinda haunting me and I need to get it out onto canvas. Hopefully the drawing will be done as soon as the marathon annual-mailing-to-the-east-coast is no longer looming over me--which will happen around mid-December--and I'll send you a copy.

And the more I thought about it today, the more certain I am that I do need to get those Giclées done of the first 3 paintings, so that I can show the whole series. There's a local place that does beautiful ones on stretched canvas...

So I now have the line up for the RI Art show, drum roll and trumpets please...

Annie Aronburg - Stamp Art
Barracuda - Cut-out Collage
Cordelia - Collage Painting
Free - Painting
Jeff Wells - Digital Collage
LilyPatToo - Painting
Metric Pringle - Drawing, Film
Project Willow - Drawing

I'll be sending you all email with specifics shortly.

I am missing a couple of people who said they wanted to participate. Nudge-nudge, Peregrine, Jam.Fuse, and a few of you others, drop me a line.

Now I just need a catchy title for the show, unless I just call it RI Art.
Ideas anyone?
