DE's comment that someone had been photographing children from a van put me in mind of this sub story to the dutroux affair. not to deflect attention from this Gosch story, but to underline the need for vigilance, and the interconnectedness of things.
A father of 4 young children, in 1989, scuffled with a man whom his children had told him was photographing children at play. This was in the village of Dour, Belgium/French border. In the scuffle he saw the man had a bag of photos of children, he made him give him those of his own children. The man had a professional looking camera with zoom. He ran off (after being punched) and got in a large grey car, driven by someone else. This father reported this to police in Sept 96, when they had appealed for witnesses in connection with enquiries into a company called ASCO, supposedly dealing in 2nd hand car parts but suspected of being a front for criminal activites. police had been worried about reports of cars circulating from which people were photographing youngsters. The father had kept the photo, and on making his report, noticed it was stamped with a serial number, and the name and address of the photographer, Eric Mattheeussen. In the same year , 96, a witness complained that a man had turned up at the funeral home where he was mourning his dead younger sister and tried to take photographs. This was in Antwerp. The police raided Mattheeussen's home and found it full of boxes of photographs of children, some alive, many dead. the dead children's photos were sometimes arranged in series, where he had posed them unpleasantly. there was also a system of categorising the photos, with ref. to families, addresses, family members in about 50 notebooks, also some paedo mags and cuttings about disappeared children. this man was brought to trial, but declared insane. little or nothing was done to identify the many children in the photos. police believed he had been active for 30 years. nothing was done to find his accomplices.
Their background enquiries showed he had been born at Etterbeek. This was the location of a club called La Piscine, which had connections with the dutroux affair but escaped investigation. La P was owned by Hofmans, who was president of the Neo Tantra cult, which was reg. as a charity at the address of his club. He absented himself during the Dutroux investigations. Neo Tantra was re-registered at the address of Eric Mattheeussen.

The Dutroux affair connects to some important people and links to illegal arms dealing which went on under the auspices of govts (US and UK) but bypassing comgress and parliament, framing innocent company directors in the process. IMO it is because of the usefullness of criminal paedophile groups (sweeteners and blackmail) that we see no progress, only cover-up. UK govt. Min of Defence, is refusing to co-operate with fraud squad investigation into Al Yamammah deals. At same time we have "Transparency International" - " a leading major anti corruption initiative.....funded largely by UK Government's Department for International Development..."
plus ca change.

it is for us to keep rattling the cages over missing and abducted and abused children , to keep LISTENING to survivors, to keep pestering for action.
