My theory about Guantanamo is that the place contains a number of people (kept without charge) who would be in a position to refute details/background etc. of the official 'Global Terror' story that we are being fed. (I heard that Saddam Husseins driver/chaffeur is in there....)

I am sure that there must be some 'bad eggs' / extremists incarcerated there but in the main, I believe that (some of) the prisoners are there so that they cannot talk. (I am reminded of the case of the US Army Chaplain who was bad-mouthed/accussed of something or other after perhaps discussing/picking up info from certain prisoners?)

It has been suggested that British MI5 has infiltrated & recruited Muslim 'patsies' & there are reports of British ex-special forces soldiers training Muslims at camps such as Ground Zero firearms training camp, outside Marion, Alabama. (see here).

There is also some evidence of British ex-Special Forces soldiers converting to Islam & being behind bookshops/youth clubs & other similar (UK government funded) institutions where angry younf muslims (patsies) could have been recruited for various 'projects' See antagonise.blogspot.com/2006/02/islam-intelligence-and-infiltration.html

You'd think they'd have better message coordination.

But Tony Blair, recently speaking to reporters about the Gitmo problem, did say this:

"I said last year that it's an anomaly, and sooner or later it has got to be dealt with."

Woo

Byrne,
Yeah, I'm sure you are right about a place to hide witnesses.
You were thinking of Woo (who I always mix up with the advocate for torture).

He was initially charged with national security offences. When they had to go to court the charges were reduced to adultery(!) and "having pornography on his computer", of which he was found guilty.

The "pornography" was of course the Abu Ghraib torture photos and videos. He had been trying to do something to bring it to the attention of the authorities. Not a smart move in a world of plausible deniability.

But it fits your thesis to a "t".

Re: Gitmo

I agree about the hiding away of witnesses in Gitmo.

In the days after the attacks, it was reported:

Quote:
"Some 50 people [in addition to the hijackers] are thought to have been involved in the plot. About 40 of the men have been accounted for, including those killed when the four planes crashed, but 10 remain at large -- this according to The Los Angeles Times Web site, citing an unidentified source with knowledge of the investigation."

So what happened to these 40 accomplices who "have been accounted for"? Where are they? What are their names? What have they been charged with? ... I've thought for a long time they were rounded up and sent "away" so as not to screw up the official story.

Also, from Paul Thompson's Timeline:

Quote:
Early October 2001: Credit Card Use After 9/11 Hints at Associates of 9/11 Plotters
www.cooperativeresearch.o...ditcarduse

According to the New York Post, "Credit cards belonging to the suicide hijackers continued to be used after the Sept. 11 attacks—indicating associates of the terrorists remained in the United States weeks after the kamikaze strikes, authorities said..." The cards were used at least until around the start of October 2001. An unnamed official says, "We believe there are additional people out there. Many of the closest associates got out of the country early on, but we also believe there are a number of people here we're still looking at." The hijackers had more than 100 credit cards in their own names, variations of their names, or by using false identities. The credit card transactions were recorded in Florida, New Jersey, and Maryland. While officials believe it is possible that at least some of the credit cards may have been stolen and used by people not connected to the hijackers. In some cases, the credit card use helped investigators detain associates of the hijackers. (New York Post, 10/17/01) What becomes of these detained people is not clear, because use of hijacker credit cards is not asserted for anyone later charged or released by US authorities. An account six months later will suggest that investigators have only connected 27 credit cards to the hijackers, not more than 100. (CNN, 5/22/02)
