USS Bon Homme Richard (Admiral George Morrison’s ship):
http://bhr31.com/historyoverview.htm
“In late 1945, the Bon Homme Richard became part of the “Magic Carpet” mission, in which ships carried troops from Guam and other Far East posts to the United States. She returned to San Francisco in October 1945 and after a brief trip to Pearl Harbor, returned to Puget Sound and was inactivated.” […] “The USS Bon Homme Richard was inactive as part of the Pacific reserve fleet for over five years. In 1951, she was activated under the command of Captain Cecil B. Gill. After a few months of training and a shakedown cruise and repairs, the ship joined Task Force 77 to aid troops in the Wonsan area during the Korean Conflict.” […] “She was decommissioned in July of 1971 and later, like most ships from this time period, sold for scrap metal. As an interesting piece of trivia, lead singer of the Doors Jim Morrison’s father, RADM (then Captain) George S. Morrison served as Commanding Officer of this ship from November 23, 1963 to November 25, 1964.”

Larry Eugene Phillips Jr (born September 20, 1970) and Emil Decebal Mătăsăreanu (born July 19, 1966 in Romania) first met at a Gold's Gym in Venice, Los Angeles, California in 1989. They had a mutual interest in weightlifting, bodybuilding and firearms.[6]
On July 20, 1993 the pair robbed an armored car outside of a branch of FirstBank in Littleton, Colorado.[7]
On October 29, 1993, Phillips and Mătăsăreanu were arrested in Glendale, northeast of Los Angeles, California, for speeding.[8] A subsequent search of their vehicle—after Phillips surrendered with a concealed weapon—found two semi-automatic rifles, two handguns, more than 1,600 rounds of 7.62×39mm rifle ammunition, 1,200 rounds of 9×19mm Parabellum and .45 ACP handgun ammunition, radio scanners, smoke bombs, improvised explosive devices, body armor vests, and three different California license plates.[9] Initially charged with conspiracy to commit robbery,[10] both served one hundred days in jail and were placed on three years' probation.[11] After their release, most of their seized property was returned to them.[12]
On June 14, 1995, the pair ambushed a Brinks armored car, killing one guard, Herman Cook, in the robbery. In May 1996, they robbed two branches of Bank of America in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, CA, stealing approximately US$1.5 million.[13] Phillips and Mătăsăreanu were dubbed the "High Incident Bandits" by investigators due to the weaponry they had used in three robberies prior to their attempt in North Hollywood.[14]

On the morning of Friday, February 28, 1997, after months of preparation, including extensive reconnoitering of their intended target—the Bank of America branch located at 6600 Laurel Canyon Boulevard—Phillips and Mătăsăreanu loaded five rifles and approximately 3,300 rounds of ammunition in box and drum magazines into the trunk of their vehicle: two converted fully automatic Norinco Type 56 S rifles, a converted fully automatic Norinco Type 56 S-1, a semi automatic HK-91, and converted fully automatic Bushmaster (M16) XM15 Dissipator.[15] They filled a jam jar with gasoline and placed it in the back seat with the intention of setting the car and weapons on fire to destroy evidence after the robbery. Phillips wore roughly 40 lbs of equipment, including a Type IIIA bulletproof vest and groin guard, a load bearing vest and multiple military canteen pouches for ammunition storage, and several pieces of home made body armor created from spare vests, covering his shins, thighs, and forearms.[16] Mătăsăreanu wore only a Type IIIA bulletproof vest, but included a metal trauma plate to protect vital organs. Additionally, both robbers had sewn watch faces onto the back of their gloves to check their timing inside the bank.[17] Before entering, they took the barbiturate phenobarbital, prescribed to Mătăsăreanu as an anticonvulsant, to calm their nerves.[18]

Marianne Faithfull says she knows who killed The Doors frontman Jim Morrison.
In an interview with British music mag Mojo, Faithfull, 67, says her drug-dealer boyfriend at the time did Morrison in.
It was the summer of 1971, she says, and she had traveled to France with heroin-dealer-to-the-stars Jean de Breiteuil. De Breiteuil said he was going to visit Morrison, but Faithfull says she felt a strange sense of foreboding, so she stayed at the hotel.
“I could intuitively feel trouble. I thought, I’ll take a few Tuinal and I won’t be there. And he went to see Jim Morrison and killed him. I mean I’m sure it was an accident. Poor bastard. The smack was too strong? Yeah. And he died. And I didn’t know anything about this. Anyway, everybody connected to the death of this poor guy is dead now. Except me.”
Morrison died at age 27. An autopsy was not performed, so the exact cause of death continues to be disputed.

Eagles Co-Founder Randy Meisner’s Wife Shot to Death
By Nick DeRiso March 7, 2016 9:41 AM
Randy Meisner’s wife was shot to death at the couple’s home, according to multiple news sources, but the founding Eagles bassist has been cleared of all charges.
Authorities now say Lana Rae Meisner was killed on Sunday (March 6) in Studio City, Calif., in a bizarre accident, according to TMZ. Randy Meisner, 69, told police that his wife was shot as she searched for something in the closet, RadarOnline reports.
Law enforcement had been to the Meisner residence earlier in the evening, several news outlets say. Lana Rae Meisner, 63, allegedly called 911 to report a domestic violence incident, according to TMZ, which also claims that she accused Randy Meisner of “acting erratically.” Roughly an hour and a half later, Randy Meisner called to say his wife had gone into another room when he heard a gun shot, according to multiple reports.
RadarOnline quotes an unnamed law enforcement source who describes a grisly scene. According to that source, Meisner told the police that his wife “was stumbling around, looking for something in a closet where there were two guns. She was looking for something in the hall closet, and Randy told cops one of the guns was falling and in the process, Lana Rae caught it and it ended up blowing her head apart.”
TMZ earlier reported that Meisner was “acting in an altered state” when police arrived, and apparently was taken to the hospital. “Randy seemed to be in shock,” Page Six says, “and wasn’t even able to acknowledge that Lana Rae was dead from a gunshot wound.”
The Meisner’s marriage made headlines last spring when Randy Meisner refuted a TMZ story claiming Lana Rae wanted to kill him. She’d been accused in that same report of keeping Randy in a “state of near-constant inebriation” because “he is easier to control when he’s drunk.” Later, in June, Randy was placed under 24-hour care by a temporary conservator following a court hearing in which Meisner was alleged to have threatened to shoot hospital staff and also to end his own life by taking all of his medication.
Meisner left the Eagles in 1977; he was earlier in Poco.
In the 1960s, young songwriter and recording savant Brian Wilson (Paul Dano) finds himself in the midst of extraordinary success after scoring numerous hit records with The Beach Boys. Following a panic attack, he resigns from concert touring and ventures into the studio intent on creating "the greatest album ever made", Pet Sounds. Meanwhile, his grip on reality slowly loosens as he attempts to cope with the overwhelming voices in his head. Later, in the 1980s, a middle-aged Wilson (John Cusack) is shown to be a broken, confused man under the pharmacological and legal thrall of his abusive therapist Dr. Eugene Landy (Paul Giamatti). After meeting Wilson, Cadillac saleswoman Melinda Ledbetter (Elizabeth Banks) is determined to save him from Landy's manipulation.[6][7]...
