Because I always listen to this song on days of total financial wipe-out. Usually when writing checks for every (or in more recent years, the only) penny I've got to the IRS and NY State Department of Finance. Can't top the YouTube poster's summary, tho: "AUDIO TAKEN FROM THE CLASSIC ALBUM (L.A.M.F).CLIPS MESSED WITH TO FIT AUDIO THIS IS THE ONLY ALBUM I KNOW OF ,BUT IM SURE THERES MORE.YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS ALBUM ITS ALL YOU NEED .CHEERS - PONDSCUM."

Loose Fur - Stupid as the Sun

Every little hair on my neck is a wreck
Black and blue because of you
My back’s out of place
I need a brace and my face is askew
Now that’s hard to do
Come on let me down
We can work something out
If my dad comes by you’ll fry
He’ll give you something to write about

It was funny at first
Now I’m cursed with the worst living will
On this hill
You think I could get a bit
Of your soul’s debt and free will
Because I’m footing the bill
Come on let me down
You’ve all had your fun
Even my mom’s given up on me
I’m as stupid as the sun

Got assigned here
Not a good career
Preacher man in demand
When I took this job on it said
I’d get a lot of sun, sea, and sand
And a burial plan
Come on let me down
I’m resigning now
I got an offer from the other guy
That’s starting to look good right now

Loose Fur - Thou Shalt Wilt

Now gather round
And check this shit out
I found a simple way
To keep us all devout
If there’s one thing we can all agree about
Why not make it ten
And banish any doubt

Let’s start it rolling by covering number ten
Cut off their heat then they’ll beat a retreat, amen
Now we come to number nine
Falls neatly next in line
Whoa what happened to number ten
Don’t think we’ll see them here again
Steal a look at number eight
What better way to procreate
Just take ’em out one at a time

You can’t be serious
They look so good in their wedding dress
I need time to assess
I don’t want to acquiesce
Six has a spicy ring to it
No harder one to commit
I think this one will be a hit
Now that’s what I call holy writ
We want to take a closer look at number five
Could it apply if implied that they’re not alive

Number four is such a pain
The sabbath thing is so arcane
I don’t want to desecrate
My only day to sleep in late
Don’t take his name in vain
From this one you want to abstain
We must set a clear mandate
The best damn way to conjugate
We’re almost to the end
If heaven you want to ascend
Just take ’em out one at a time

You shall have no other god but me
You shall have no other god but me
You shall have no other god but me

Wilco - Side With the Seeds

Tires type black
Where the blacktop cracks
Weeds spark through
Dark green enough to be blue
When the mysteries we believe in
Aren’t dreamed enough to be true
Some side with the leaves
Some side with the seeds

The treetops nod
the rain applauds
The park grows dark
And the swings all slowly die
But you and I will be undefeated
by agreeing to disagree
No one wins but the thieves
so why side with anything

The streetlights glow
Comes and goes
When the sun comes back
As we all can plainly see
Embracing the situation
Is our only chance to be free
I’ll side with you
If you side with me

Wilco - Shake It Off

Sunlight angles on
A wooden floor at dawn
A ceiling fan is on
Chopping up my dreams
What is left of them
I take to sleep again
Where I dare pretend
I’m more than I seem

Tears get triggered
Yours remind me
Of the ice melting in my glass
Finally full again
So
I listen for
Your lips to break apart
Into words

It definitely starts to spoil my heart
Somewhere there’s a war
Sometimes there is art

It definitely starts to spoil my heart
Somewhere there’s a war
Sometimes there is art

When I’m awake enough
I’m gonna shake it off

Shake it off

Hotels hold me
Thoughts horizon
So many hearts
Beating in one place
Like a giant
Beast with many souls
No
Just a body
Full of holes

When I’m awake enough
I’m gonna shake it off

When I’m awake enough
I’m gonna shake it off

Shake it off

LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends

LCD Soundsystem - Us V. Them

I think of the two as one long 16 minute song.

This reminds me, at some point in the next few months I'm going to be throwing a party, the most welcoming and ecstatic party imaginable, and I would like to invite some of y'all. Don't know when or where yet, but I'll let the pertinent people know when it's time.
