A too little revered song in search of a better video.

If someone had made a party album as great as that one was (and is) when I was in high school, I probably wouldn't have lived long enough to be the 20-something drug-addicted psycho-about-town that I actually was when it came out. And in truth, it's even worse than that: I not only remember but also once worked with them back when they were still a hardcore punk band of little serious consequence to anybody. Grim times, I'm telling you. No regrets, though. I mean, I could have been among the 43 percent or so of students in my graduating class who were looking back at the road rushing under their wheels in their yearbook quotes.

In which case, I probably would have died of shame years and years before I and my then-cohort ever had the chance to, I don't know...maybe commit coked-up acts of vandalism involving office furniture and what-have-you while dancing to "No Sleep Til Brooklyn" or something of that nature? Somehow, I can't really recall. Oddly enough.

Happily, I never really cared for Jackson Browne. :partyhat

Thanks for the shout-out and the track. FWIW, I have a dim sense that falls short of anything one could really call a memory that this one was also on the turntables of total losers and lowlifes everywhere that year:

Comments: 2 More Print It's enough to drive someone mad.

In a stunning security lapse, the federal General Services Administration mistakenly shipped nearly three dozen license plates marked "U.S. Government -- For Official Use Only" to a humble Queens accountant, The Post has learned.

The foul-up is part of a troubling pattern of lost license plates at the agency, which handles plates for every federal office except the military.

"I don't know how it happened. Mistakes can happen, but I guess in this day and age, you want to be careful," said Antonio Guadagnino, who received the package, addressed to him, via UPS at his small Astoria office.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

I admit to being stupid. How do you embed this? This is Otis Redding, Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay.

See that part up there that's a series of letters and numbers following the "v=" that I put in red bolded type?

Good! Then you're not stupid at all. What you do is take that part and drop it between the youtube tags. Which I'm only not doing so that you can have the pleasure of doing it for yourself. All right? You can just disregard the rest of the url. You don't need it. Let YouTube keep it.
_____________

Also, the bolding and the color are strictly highlighting devices for the purposes of this explanation. In case that wasn't already stone obvious.

Incidentally, I love that song.
