The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus was shown on local public television recently, delighting me, and not because I watched it -- I hardly ever watch television -- but because it prompted my moms to call me and inform me that Keith Richards had once been a very attractive man. I love her very much for making sure I don't miss any 40-year-old news she suspects might be of interest to me.
To give her credit where due, it did happen to have been filmed during what were probably the hottest ten minutes of his life. I've always felt that Bob Dylan owes a debt of gratitude to D.A. Pennebaker for much the same reason. He has never looked as cute as he does in that movie before or since. Though I think that might have something to do with that black leather car coat. It's, like, the platonic ideal of black leather car coats. Anyway:
Salt of the Earth -- The Rolling Stones
I'd also say it looks like Mick doesn't much care for Marianne Faithfull's gamine haircut. As long as we're discussing issues of style.
