Both his words and manner of speech seemed at first totally unfamiliar to me, and yet somehow they stirred memories - as an actor might be stirred by the forgotten lines of some role he had played far away and long ago.

Listening to a radio program discussing the advantages of driverless cars but I'm scratching my head
because I remember the fun of driving a refurbished 5-speed Saab spg (my one furlough from owning utilitarian cars/trucks).
