Fuck the Tories

This is a long-overdue addition to RI's venerable tradition of threads beginning with the word "Fuck" . Post any and all examples of Tory filthiness here.

Fuck the fucking Tories to hell. Never in my life have I despised a British government more than this one. These bastards are almost literally eating the poor, whose poverty they have themselves spent decades creating.

Benefits cuts prompt sofa bed advice from welfare minister

[...]

The UK government is cutting housing benefit for recipients living in properties that have a spare room.

The under-occupancy rule will leave about 40,000 households in Wales £11 a week worse off on average, according to the Welsh government.

Lord Freud appeared before the committee in Westminster on Tuesday as MPs looked at the impact of the housing benefit changes.

"Basically giving [sic!!] a child a bedroom in two places is a very expensive thing for the state to do and currently we can't afford that”

Lord Freud, Welfare Minister

Chair David Davies, the Conservative MP for Monmouthshire, asked him whether separated families could use sofa beds for children visiting at weekends.

Lord Freud replied: "Some people may find it is worthwhile spending the extra £12 a week to have that facility [the penalty for having an extra bedroom].

"Others will use the sofa bed. ..."

The Tory Secretary of State for Work and Pensions visits his native Scotland:

A Thousand Flowers wrote:11) MARCH 27 2013: IAIN DUNCAN SMITH IN EDINBURGH

http://tinyurl.com/p94c4dl

The disgusted man in that video wrote:We've not elected you and your Tory cohorts. ... We dinnae want you, we dinnae need you, we've got mair pandas than Tories... You're gonnae make millions of people homeless, you're making the rich richer and the poor poorer ... We want a different Scotland, one that cares for people who are in distress and poverty... Ya ratbag! ...Parasites!"

Well said, that man. (He shamed IDS & the audience into helpless silence... for about five seconds. Then they carried on canting and smirking.) Roll on Scottish independence.

Living rent free in a £2million home with an annual salary of £134,565 hardly gives Iain Duncan Smith the experience to comment on how to get by on a pittance.

But the arrogant Work and Pensions Secretary yesterday laughingly claimed he could survive on the £7.50 a day market trader David Bennett is left with after the spiteful Tory cuts that will all but destroy the safety net of the Welfare State.

His astonishing claim came after he even tried to insist the savage £2.5billion raid on the poor that will leave hard-pressed families £891 worse off while giving tax breaks to millionaires was “fair”.

Whilst I wholeheartily agree with the sentiment expressed in the OP, I can't help but to extend it to all current mainstream politicians in the UK.

I had my eyes opened about 15 years when I installed an exhibition stand at the houses of parliament. I had access all areas and was setting up in one of the HoP bars. I saw MP's of all parties getting pissed together, joking about with each other, laughing their asses off and being the best of pals. This shocked me, but also made me realise it's just a fucking job to them - to keep them and their mates in positions of privilege. They're all fuckwads - and the few that aren't (like my MP Vincent Cable, who has even been in my house to talk about shit), end up having to toe the line once they're in the corridors of Whitehall amongst the career ministers that pretty much tell the MP's what they can and can't do. I'm probably being a bit harsh but I really have no time for their 'politician speak' and blatant self-interest. <Rant off> The day an honest person puts themselves up for election is the day I start voting again.

c_d, I agree wholeheartedly with every word you say. New Labour is beneath contempt, and the entire system is a stinking swamp. But it's these particular Tory toads who are in power right now, and there's a new quality of sheer shameless loathesomeness to them that simply takes my breath away. My aversion is so strong that I can in fact barely speak or write about them. That's why it's taken me so long to start this thread.

And I don't even live in Britain!

Jeremy Hunt - nasty little shit ...or.... rhyming slang? You decide.

via wiki:

Hillsborough comments
In June 2010, Hunt attracted controversy for suggesting football hooliganism played a part in the death of 96 football fans in the Hillsborough disaster; when in reality lack of police control and the presence of terraces and perimeter fences were established as the causes of the tragedy.

Tax avoidance
In April 2012, immediately following David Cameron's statement that he would not associate himself with anyone who carried out “aggressive tax avoidance”, the Daily Telegraph disclosed that Hunt had reduced his tax bill by over £100,000 by receiving dividends from Hotcourses in the form of property which was promptly leased back to the company.[18] The dividend in specie was paid just before a 10% rise in dividend tax and Hunt was not required to pay stamp duty on the property

Culture Secretary
In September 2010, The Observer reported "raised eyebrows" when Hunt's former parliamentary assistant, Naomi Gummer, had been given a job within the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on a fixed-term civil service contract after Hunt had proposed departmental cuts of 35–50 per cent.[19] The head of the Public and Commercial Services Union questioned Hunt's motives saying, "Political independence of the civil service is a fundamental part of our democracy and we would be deeply concerned if this was being put at risk by nepotism and privilege."[19] Gummer is the daughter of a Conservative life peer, Lord Chadlington, who was a director of Hotcourses between 2000 and 2004.[19]

As Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, Hunt oversaw an expansion of the responsibilities of his Department. Competition and policy issues relating to media and telecommunications became the responsibility of the culture secretary; they were removed from the purview of the Business Secretary, Vince Cable, after Cable was recorded stating that he had "declared war" on Rupert Murdoch.[20]

Hunt was consequently given the quasi-judicial power to adjudicate over the News Corporation takeover bid for BSkyB. Hunt chose not to refer to the deal to the Competition Commission, announcing on 3 March 2011 that he intended to accept a series of undertakings given by News Corporation, paving the way for the deal to be approved

Health Secretary
Hunt was appointed Health Secretary in a cabinet reshuffle on 4 September 2012, succeeding Andrew Lansley.[36] He described the appointment as "huge task and the biggest privilege of my life".
The chair of the British Medical Association, Dr Mark Porter, said "The appointment of a new Health Secretary provides a fresh opportunity for doctors and government to work together to improve patient care and deal with the many challenges facing the NHS."[37] The deputy chairman of the same association, Dr Kailash Chand, said "Jeremy Hunt is new Health Secretary – disaster in the NHS carries on. I fear a more toxic right winger to follow the privatisation agenda

and that's just the stuff he's been caught at.

^^Eight minutes of hoarse, outraged and increasingly inarticulate (but accurate) invective, culminating in 45 seconds of speechless incredulity, and concluding with a shake of the head and the helpless summary: "They are monsters."

That man is speaking from my heart.

In the unlikely event that I ever meet any member of this Conservative cabinet face-to-peace, I very much hope I will have the decency, the maturity and the self-control to throttle the bastard. And I speak as a lifelong opponent of capital punishment under any and all circumstances.

It's fine to start a thread with the word fuck in the title....unless it's about fucking Zero Hedge in which case it certainly fucking isn't.

The use of obscenities is a vocabulary crutch evidencing the absence of more articulate, literate or descriptive alternatives to convey thoughts and emotion. It is a sloppy and offensive habit that is indicative of ignorant, low-brow and unnecessarily abusive banter. It is also an unfortunate disregard of decency, propriety and politeness. It requires I edit and delete discussion viewed here by my family, including curious children researching current affairs topic discussions for educational edification and schoolwork. Consideration needs to be given to the wide and varied audience seeking more mature, sophisticated exchanges here.

So it's ok for your kids to read stuff about elite paedophilia, murders, occult connections and all the rest of it but stick a couple of swear words in and it's beyond the pale? I don't understand, is this one of those American things, like when it's ok to show all sorts of violence on tv but Janet Jackson shows a nipple and everyone has a collective breakdown about it?

I find the Tories despicable too. Many of them elicit raw outrage reactions. But expressing those frustrating facts and feelings need not take the form of disgusting language and profanity. Children emulate their elders. Sanctioning use of obscenities is wrong.

Of course there are other topics and actions that are reprehensible, as you point out. Like swearing and immoral conduct, such are the ways of the world’s ignoramuses. Even the Tories evidence immorality personified, but usually without the cussing.
I just happen to find this thread title, and others before it, offensive and obscene because it is unnecessary given the intellect and vocabulary of most participants here. I also take exception to blatant porn appearing unexpectedly in the wrong venues, for the same reasons.

Class is not determined by political alliance nor social standing. It is a reflection of judgment. It is a product of intelligent individual character and consideration for others. This forum’s appeal is based largely upon that quality of rigorous intellect.

And, incidentally, I’m not American. An exposed nipple is fine. Obscenity is not. I try to keep my cussing private.
