Jeff needs to add the photo of a spiral galaxy after the storm image. Order of magnitude indeed. Fractals repeated in nature. Blueprints of matter.

Given the circumstantial evidence that the universe likes to repeat certain shapes, I wonder if it isn't a given that intelligent life has to be humanoid.

This is an image from a bubble chamber. It shows the trace of motion that tiny particles make as they move through liquified gas. This spray of spiraling tracks is caused by collisions between subatomic particles. Protons, neutrons, electrons. They are impossible to see directly.[/url]

 What an incredible pleasure this thread is. I was a mathematician and most maths folks see the "world as patterns" like this but seldom share it... cos we is often shy.

A mathematician named Klein
Thought the Möbius strip divine.
Said he, "If you glue
The edges of two
You'll get a weird bottle like mine."

Too funny.

Today, I had the privilege of a meeting with the JWs at my doorstep.

After something of an 'interesting' exchange, where we discussed who exactly God was, and I tried to explain as best I could to this elderly couple my own view that we are indeed a reflection of God, the Universe, The whole shebang (and vice versa) I could have done with this photograph.

I remember Monster posting this a while back. Im not very good however at keeping stuff.

I should add, that with due respect to my visitors, I didnt wish to confound the issue with quantum physics and the nature of extra dimensions.

On Edit ;

Theres a fascinating article about the neuronic relationship between our Sun and Sirius at the link below. I cant speak for the science contained within, but it sure as hell would make sense to me.

This harmony of the Sphere is accurate within 3 decimals of each other, and it is also the difference between perfect mathematics (the ones that work theoretically) and the actual mathematics of the universe, 0,014. What that means is that Sirius is no coincidence. It is really resonating to our sun. It is connected to our sun like a neuron, because they have this major mathematical relation in size to each other, harmonic resonance, that is likened to holography, a kind of Virtual Neuron Internal Net, as we may call it, or as Astronomer Royal, Robert Temple, has dubbed it: "The Anubis Cell".

That thread, I mean ALL of it, has been one of my favorites of all time at RI, and I had lost track of it. What a fun, fun read! I like the comments on science, too.

Thank You.

But the original sequence posted by nomo is now a dead link. Can't find it. It was so cool! Did find some other attempts at the same thing.

This one might be great, but hard to control:

The Nikon presentation is absolutely captivating! On edit: The Nikon presentation is impressive. It's the Scale of the Universe that captivated!

I got really motivated over the last few hours, enough so that I read up on J.S. Bach’s Musical Offering of 1747 as presumed a piece of reversible evolution (of which an understanding=as if) found during researching a link in that favorite thread.

Keeping with the scale of astronomical objects, an idea that kinda makes my body disappear :) even though I'm sitting desk bound, here's a refresher wrt Orion. I didn't know Orion, the hunter, appears to us during winter months.
