Can't wait to try it again though

But do it with a 'designated driver' (never thought I'd use that phrase in a serious way), i. e., someone in a straight frame of mind

I almost walked out into brooklyn traffic in the dead of night whilst in an alternative dimension

How could you walk after smoking Salvia?

practice.

Could it be because each piece of a hologram contains the information for the whole thing?

That might explain how things like astrology and tea-leaf reading could work, and how 'key words' could keep popping up into our perception---things like that---the universe reflecting itself everywhere.

I might be babbling. I'd better go try to wrap my head around this some more. Thanks for posting that!

it would also make any actual ongoing purposeful keyword hijackings more potentially dangerous, so Hugh's mission would be even more important to the fate of the superuniverse.

A friend was telling me about his salvia experience of the previous day. Apparently he could walk as he was walking with a friend but he would occasionally stop without realizing it. So sometimes he could walk and sometimes he would forget to walk. As for The Holographic Universe, I have not read it but it seems that he focuses on the idea that a hologram can be divided and still contain all of the information of the object that was hologrammeded. The holographic principle is more like the reverse of Flatland - instead of a three-dimensional schlub pulling up a two-dimensional schlub and showing him that the world is actually three-dimensional, some three-dimensional schlubs are telling other three-dimensional schlubs that our information can be contained in a two-dimensional schlub.

So we're not allowed to discuss anything but the Gaza invasion? do you do nothing but talk about Gaza all day? How is every post in this thread lengthening the invasion by one day? Are you trying to hijack this thread?

I guess it's true that our world may be a giant hologram. Or even a very very small one. I seem to recall some notion regarding the way in which the biological singularity of the human brain and its ability in each one of us to create the universe in a moment to moment infinite vision actually mirrors within ourselves the unending universe like small fractal slivers of the broken hologram. God pouring god into god, only sort of curdled.

Or, the world may be a giant muffler man.

It would explain so much.

I thought he was being ironic.

Barracuda - there's a difference?

Anyone know how to make a hologram?

Joe, you're probably right. I missed the irony! Sometimes I'm just too literal minded for my own good!! You should call me Col. Klunk!

I agreee that the older you get, the more synchronicities you see...or it could be that they are simply increasing overall...but whoever is creating the hologram is sure having a blast playing with its comic book characters! The trick to staying alive is to living an interesting life, so the comic book author will want to know what happens next to you.

OK, time for me to go to bed...babble babble

my irony detector is malfunctioning as well, if the Gaza statement was indeed intended as irony.

I'm sure posting on some Gaza-related thread would be much more helpful toward ending the atrocity than posting in this thread. All the decision-makers respond immediately and forcefully to public opinion, as evidenced by George Bush's historically low approval ratings and historically aggressive expansion of presidential powers.

I've been championing Michael Talbot for a long time. To me, he's the first scientist to explain in Western terms what the Eastern mystics have always known, and we're far closer to understanding the universe now.

As for synchronicities, I feel strongly that they are a result of our 3-D time-space continuum breaking down, or at least changing. It's not just a matter of aging, as young people are experiencing them just as strongly as their elders are.

I believe that we are indeed in a hologram, but one that we can inadvertently or otherwise alter as time goes on. We cause our own synchronicities by the simple act of observing them. It'll be interesting to see what we're capable of down the road.

Older articles on the holographic principle:

Information in the Holographic Universe.
The Illusion of Gravity [pdf].
Shadow world: how many dimensions space has could all be a matter of perspective.

The first two are from Scientific American the third is from Science News.

The universe as a hologram might also provide the best way of looking beyond the big bang - or into a singularity.

Cos what does it take to make a hologram?
