Hey.....not at all..........Peak water.....Peak lie.

completely unneccesary.

Just like peak Oil.

Not because they wont run out if we dont do what we can do to deal with it

But quite simply all based on completely false premises - you know what I mean - The "no alternative" lie.

That which keeps us all in servitude.

2/3rds of the earth is covered in water - albeit salinated

99.9% of the mass of this solar system is the Sun.

We are quite sophisticated sentient beings.

So we cant use the sun and the water to provide clean water for ourselves, and yet we can produce the Atom Bomb or the internet ?

I want to believe. Sell me. Please, without riddles. Assume I'm lazy and/or slow, and don't have time or ability to quickly gain a working grasp of how electricity works and study all of Tesla's writings, experiments and demonsrations. By what mechanism do we accomplish clean, free water for all the world?

oceanic tides

Postby marmot » Thu Feb 26, 2009 11:55 pm

my personal read on this:

i know of technology--perhaps solar, wind, but most certainly oceanic (using the power of the moon really, how it lifts and drops the ocean tides)--that can generate enough energy to transport water anywhere in the states. however, presently, this type of technology is not widely being utilized. so, really, slim, wintler, as i'm reading it, you're both in the right.

You are a sweetie marmot trying for compromise, but i am not aware of any practical plans such as you describe. I (and millions of others) would welcome being proved wrong, and promise that my more abrasive terms of address are reserved for the routinely abusive, which you aren't.

I also thought of a song, and feel that it is my holy duty to post it here, though all credit is due to Mos Def, and the forces he represents.

The audio is great and the video is OK, but "New World Water" is completely on it:

PEAK FASCISM!

Postby marmot » Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:49 pm

Paraguayan sources have confirmed that George W. Bush bought 42,000 hectares (over 100,000 acres) of land in Paraguay's northern "Chaco" region. <link>

Bush bought choice land in Chaco, Paraguay, near the Triple Frontier (hot spot) nexus region (where Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay meet). The land is located above the Guarani Aquifer (which is the largest single body of underground water in the world) and beside the Mariscal Estigarribia US base in Paraguay.

here's a highlighted article from late 2006:

The land grab project of U.S. President George W. Bush in Chaco, Paraguay, has generated considerable discomfort both politically and environmentally.

The news circulating the continent about plans to buy 98,840 acres of land in Chaco, Paraguay, near the Triple Frontier (Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay) is the talk of the town in these countries.

Although official sources have not confirmed the information that is already public, the land is reportedly located in Paso de Patria, near Bolivian gas reserves and the Guarani indigenous water region, within the Triple Border.

Alto Paraguay Gov. Erasmo Rodriguez Acosta revealed he heard that part of the land purchase consists of an ecological reserve (Fundacion Patria), with which Bush is affiliated.

In its interview with Rodriguez Acosta, neike.com.py reported that he does not have documentation of this affiliation and it could not communicate either with the foundation or with the National Rural Development and Land Institute, in charge of these state lands.

Concern increased last week with the arrival of Bush's daughter, Jenna, and a source from the Physical Planning Department saying that most of the Chaco region belongs to private companies.

Luis D'Elia, Argentina´s undersecretary for Land for Social Habitat, says the matter raises regional concern because it threatens local natural resources.

He termed it "surprising" that the Bush family is trying to settle a few short miles from the US Mariscal Estigarribia Military Base.

Argentinean Adolfo Perez Esquivel warned that the real war will be fought not for oil, but for water, and recalled that Acuifero Guaraní is one of the largest underground water reserves in South America, running beneath Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay (larger than Texas and California together).

"The southern U.S. states are already struggling with water shortages," asserted the 1980 Nobel Peace Prizewinner.

Orlando Castillo, Paraguay Peace and Justice Service member, recalled the US military buildup in Chaco under a bilateral agreement.

Thanks for this reminder Marmot.

But all that aside

Billions on warfare, and it would appear trillions upon supporting the money scam and nothing on relatively freely available alternatives to both Oil and fresh water ?

Do the logic for yourselves.

Fucking Reptiles indeed.

Heres a clue for ya MGFU.

expanding and contracting stainless steel within relatively small temperature ranges creates something akin to 2,400 lbs PSI.

Did you get that ?

2,400 Pounds Per square inch .

The only real problem is containing the power. Not to mention the suction.

Im not a scientist, but I do understand a simple concept when I see one.

And yet, it would appear that modern "science" can get its head around splitting the atom, or putting computer programmes into atoms ( things I cant even (really )begin to understand ), and yet it cant create relatively free freshwater or energy ?

You oughta pass this (very well known) information onto any "scientific" bodies that you can, as they struggle to come to terms with our "energy crisis". Let see where that gets these bastions of truth.

Is this some kinda fucking reptillian joke or what ?

On edit';

What say you, Wintler ?

Thanks Marmot. Interesting ideas, pretty diagrams, for energy rather than water provision, yes? i see their first prototype, a 6kW system (enough for a few houses), is "planned". Somebody should introduce them to a spellchecker, might help attract the funding they're hoping for.

Meanwhile..

California Faces Water Rationing, Governor Proclaims Drought Emergency

SACRAMENTO, California, February 27, 2009 (ENS) - Parched California is a step closer to mandatory water rationing today as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proclaimed a state of emergency and ordered all government agencies to implement the state's emergency plan and provide help for people, communities and businesses impacted by the third consecutive year of drought.

"This drought is having a devastating impact on our people, our communities, our economy and our environment - making today's action absolutely necessary," Governor Schwarzenegger said. "This is a crisis, just as severe as an earthquake or raging wildfire, and we must treat it with the same urgency by upgrading California's water infrastructure to ensure a clean and reliable water supply for our growing state." ..
http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/feb2009 ... 27-093.asp

..In making the declaration, Schwarzenegger said the state must prepare for several more years with little rain. Experts predict this year's runoff - the critical spring melt from Sierra Nevada snow - will be 57 percent of normal.

..About two dozen water agencies in the state, including the East Bay Municipal Utility District, have ordered water rationing to protect dwindling reservoirs. The governor declared a drought emergency last year, but Friday's announcement outlined more sweeping efforts to stem the crisis.
