There is something sick about any society which spends more money on implements of destruction than on it's citizen's health care. This is sick. We have got to give up remote control warfare. This is the cyber war, an unholy extension of, say, Orson Scott Card's Ender series, except the aliens are us. What could any particular Mayan do? Nothing.

What could any particular Roman do?

What could any particular German during Hitler's reign do?

Nothing.

It might be better for all of us if we lost this illusion, this delusion, that we actually have some sort of Democratic control over our government's course of history.
