I honestly do not know. That's why I come here, to see what you guys are thinking.

But not knowing much, I would say, enjoy the show while you can. People all around me are profoundly miserable and not enjoying the show because they don't have senses of irony. Perhaps they do, but under their stresses, the sense and enjoyment of irony takes a number of backseats to what they really need.

Oh hell. Why the hell not. . .

Well, I thought about it and I can't just sit back and watch the weirdness. Maybe as a break, maybe as part of an attitude to hold.

I'm not a fan of Alex Jones (I can generally tolerate him until he opens his mouth). But watching his behavior in this video, he appears delusional. Look at his eyes when he's being confronted--does he always look like that?. I wonder if he has an illness (alcohol related) or is reacting to some kind of drug, or something else affecting his brain, because, even for him, his behavior is way over the top. Or maybe he's in the final stages of acute megalomania, but there's something wrong with him. imho

Actually Cordelia, you may be right about the alcohol.

The most time I ever spent with him was in 2002 right after he got married. He was the guest on a radioshow a friend of mine was hosting. He arrived with and was drinking from a large styrofoam cup which my friends later told me they thought was spiked with alcohol as they said they could smell it and on him. It was a great show! We had dinner afterwards and I tried to draw him out and get a sense of what he was really like. I asked him if he'd ever met Bill Hicks since he is close friends with Kevin Booth. He said he'd only met him once, I think.

Then again, maybe the crazed look is just cuz he's ... well, crazy.

Why? Why on earth why? Because he "supports 9/11 truth!"? Because he "is trying to take down big brother and the in double-you oh?"

This guy and his site not only bashes Mexicans and environmentalists every day on his site, but hes very anti gay and posted a lot of gay bashing articles during the prop 8 fight
and has made it his mission to "expose the environmentalists". For ages this guy would call Mexican civilians crossing over filth destroying the fabric of society.

Sure, he's anti Muslim demonization(unlike most patriot/tea party people who believe the official 9/11 story and are pro war) and sure hes been a big proponent for exposing child abuse crimes by the state..

but here's his biggest problem: Its HIS WAY or the high way, even if he is totally in the wrong with my "facts"

I cant tell you how many times hes completely distorted facts or completely fabricated stuff...and this is a daily pattern since the late 90's. Hes pure conspiratainment, about as much fun as listening to an irate dad threaten to beat one's ass. Even Jack Blood, his one time right hand man, devoted a whole show to talking about all the horrible crap AJ has done.

On the other hand, he got really mad over the treatment of Charlie Veitch in Toronto. The Love Police are peaceful AND powerful and deserve support.
AJ scores lots of points with me for that; he gave a number to call. He can be an almighty asshole, sure.

Conspiratainment isnt all bad BTW - - Jeff Wells IMHO is a great blogger (HINT! HINT!! :) ) because the package is... INTERESTING!

Oh for fuck's sake 8bit ... what is with you today / lately?

Did you see when I posted / started this thread ... like fucking half a god damned year ago. Sheesh!

I could give you any number of reasons for why I have, IN THE PAST, defended him. Most of those times were before he started focusing so much on the very things you are going off about. I started listening / watching his shows back around 1998/1999. I gradually warmed to his shtick but ultimately moved along like so many other "fans" of his I've known.

For fuck's sake, I defend a lot of people whom I disagree with. I think Steven Greer is a putz but I've defended what he had to say re:911-foreknowledge and possible govt ufo-disinfo.

I haven't even listened to Alex in months. I know plenty of folks who, like me, got fed up with his BS some time along the way - and yes, I've very familiar with Jack Blood's legendary show outing just a fraction of the stuff I've heard about behind closed doors here in town.

Oh whatever, please, by all means, go find another post of mine that's half a freakin year old and dredge up something to rail against.

I wondered about that too. I always thought that Michael Corbin (4 A Closer Look) was the real deal. I think both his and Orlin Grabbe's passing left a real hole which has never been filled.

Hey, worry not. I was a big AJ fan up until a couple years ago. I think were in the same boat(also was not aware this was an old post, my apoligies, just saw it linked)

My point was more agreeing, because I was vehemently defending AJ for a long time against both liberal, right wing and then also fellow para-political minded people.

For years I just brushed stuff he said aside...but anyone who had even the most slight disagreement that would call in, he'd just get angry. I remember him dissing Frank Zappa's son, berating this young environmentalist just because his last name was Rothchild, promoting hoax truthers(like the guy who claimed he saw a drone hit the pentagon or that army kid who claims he heard stand down orders), berating Henry Rollins.

He NEVER has real activists and researchers on, like Jeremy Scahill, Paul Thompson, etc. And his obsession with "exposing the environmental activist agenda" is just bizarre.

Anyways, I apologize for the tone of that above post, it was more in the spirit of also having a wake up call as to why I was even tuning into him. I first got into him around 2001 when Waking Life came out, and at first had a hard time getting used to his style. The Charlie Sheen stunt last September I think was the last straw for many of his fans, as time and time again he's embarrassed his listeners. The point Jack Blood made in regard to that governor candidate is another example

We are having a revive Paul and Jone's day at RI.

You know what's funny, it seems the people that hate Jones the most follow him most closely and the people who defend him follow him the least. Well, just an observation, maybe it's not true. It is in my case. I was never able, god I've had to say this 1000 times already, dig him, because the style was just too much. His movies are certainly better and some of the articles by Watson and Nimmo are just fine. They should just axe the comments though, I've never seen anything substantial in them.

I have a friend who listens everyday, he's a telephone guy and always on the road. he calls almost everyday to check in. He gives me the more alarmist Jones stuff and I give him my stuff, which is, you know, calm, rational, intelligent analysis. Anyway, the point is that it works pretty well. I get Jones filtered thru a telephone man.

BTW Where are Corbin's archives, anyone?

Rigorous Intuition: For Fuck's Sake

Good to see everybody is getting along again! Elfismiles, I will always come to the defense of a member with an 8 in their username. You better mind your p's and q's.
