Maybe. But I think Dick Cheney hates me about as much as I hate carrot cake. I only think about it when I'm there and don't care if other people eat it. Difference between me and Dick is, he will instantly make a valuation of the carrot cake, regardless of his personal taste, to see how well it can be monetized and perhaps even weaponized. My thoughts end at embarrassing moments with aunt Lois, having to choke down a bite or two with a fake smile "MMMmmm, yum...gosh I'm full". Dick's thoughts go far beyond, imagining long term 137% profits and Hugo Chavez sticking a fork into a loaf and being blown into 5,000 itsy bitsy pieces after which Halliburton assumes complete control of Lake Maricaibo.

I was going to second Simulist's comment above, but Alaya beat me to it, then topped it off with an astute observation I'd have to concur with: "I think she is a chirpy little twit."

Another prop to placate/disinform those that gleefully dub themselves 'liberals', providing them with an 'alternative' viewpoint that is never alternative. It's all status quo, all the time.

That should be their tagline.

Well that does it - I'm removing her picture from the "Hot Dissidents" thread.

Wow the only recognizable thing from that photo is the rather thick neck.

That's really Rachel Maddow?

She's got that "Fox News" hair color!

Pity. I expected her to look more like "Daria" in her high school years!

Just occurred to me, but why the word "realtor" or "real estate agent"? Why? What is "Real" and what is an "estate"? We're fucking hypnotized. Yes, all of us, hypnotized. Hypnotists and shrinks who are "licensed" to hypnotize merely take you to another realm of their psyche in order for you to match up with them and how they view the world. No counselor has ever given me the answers that I sought. The problem was with me and me alone. The problem is IS the scratch (money) they get from me and there are no questions asked once the payment is made. They don't see this. They're too ensconced.

The word real in Spanish translates to royal. Just sayin'...

I think she looks hotter now... Though she's definitely more than lukewarm in that photo also. I have a weird thing for chicks who look like cute boys, being the boring hetero I am... I think!

About Maddow, aside from her looks, I've always dug her sense of humour... But I became wary of her after a profile of her that came out around the time she was hired on MSNBC which said that aside from her being a Rhodes scholar, one of her main areas of interest were "national security issues". Call me a recidivist Oliver Stone fanboy, but I equate "national security" with fascism.

-That's just a word, Marlowe. We have that kind of world. Two wars gave it to us and we are going to keep it.

If memory serves, Anderson Cooper interned with the CIA during college.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that a lot of young (and old) media personalities have quite a direct relationship with Langley. (And I'm not talkin' about the long-haired dude from The X-Files.)

Rachel Maddow was a Rhodes Scholar... I'll post a video where Hitchens says that is very much a program for liberal imperialists and having an Anglo-American alliance essentially rule the world -- exactly what we're doing in Afghanistan. According to Hitchens Rhodes was also instrumental in the setting up of the CFR. I've never believed in a conspiracy with the CFR, with the empty suits in that group I don't see why there'd be a need for one... They are the centrist establishment, I doubt there are any doves or peaceniks among their group.

Hitchens video (I don't know if people recall Hitchens pre-Iraq war, he used to be quite the dissident intellectual, before drinking the Bush kool aid sadly):
