Sick to my stomach.

Good luck 82, and all of you west coasters.

Holy shit.

This is utterly unbelievable.

Japan issues emergency at nuke plant; no leak
Associated Press, 03.11.11, 06:21 AM EST

TOKYO -- Japan's top government spokesman says the country has issued a state of emergency at a nuclear power plant after its cooling system failed. There was no radiation leak.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano says the nuclear power plant in Fukushima developed a mechanical failure in the system needed to cool the reactor after it was shut down in Friday's earthquake.

He said the measure was a precaution and there was no radiation leak at the Fukushima No. 1 power plant. He said the facility was not in immediate danger.

State of emergency is declared at Japanese nuclear plants
Process for cooling reactor 'not going as planned' in wake of quake, administrator says

TOKYO — Japan's top government spokesman and local administrators say emergencies have been issued at two nuclear power plants over cooling-system fears in the wake of Friday's giant earthquake.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano says the nuclear power plant in Fukushima developed a mechanical failure in the system needed to cool the reactor after it was shut down after the earthquake. He said there was no radiation leak.

Edano said the measure was a precaution and there was no radiation leak at the Fukushima No. 1 power plant. He said the facility was not in immediate danger.

Meanwhile, an administrator at the Tohoku Electric Power Co's Onagawa facility said the process for the cooling reactor is "not going as planned," adding that "nuclear emergency situation" has been declared. The company asked people nearby to stay calm, the official TV news channel NHK reported.

One more reason why nuke plants aren't a good idea.

Yep, hate to say I told you so but I told you so. The first of many more big quakes to come.

Scoff, doubt, snicker and laugh but people need to WAKE THE FUCK UP to what is going on with our Planet and realize that the Instability we all feel inside is just a direct representation of the Instability that is directly under our feet.

Balances must be defended

They were guardians of the breath

Trusted with those precious chances

Keeping Gaia from the fear of death

Balances must be defended

To take only what they must

(Borrowed from the future)

Live in lovers of a global home

(Our children will remember)

Guardians slept while comfort came

The vapours poison, the acid rain fell

The spirit cut from earthly bounds

The creature stirred the pain

How much abuse can she take

(Awake from your dreamtime)

The lines are drawn our justice awaits

(Will the guardians surrender)

The forest bare, a desert born

The life pushed out

They sold her cheaply

All for a shilling for next week's treat

A marvel that had taken ten thousand years

To take only what they must

(Borrowed from the future)

Live in lovers of a global home

(Our children will remember)

They are guardians of the breath

Trusted with those precious chances

They are guardians of the breath

Balances must be defended

Quite horrible...although so far no gruesome reports, it seems Japan is prepared, but perhaps this was still bigger than anticipated.

I am quite sure they will control the nuclear plant eventually.

GIven that its the land of cameras, I thought the new will be running home made films etc., but so far, in Israel at least, the reports are not hysterical.

Of course its the hour of the prophets and the crystal ball readers...but there are always natural disasters somewhere all the time, but nobody cares whe IRan or even Chile is hit several times in a year with thousands of casualties and so forth.

in case anyone is nearby, sending my Oy Vey, and well wishes.
