Well said, I agree.

I had to look up "parsimony", it's been so long since I used that word that I forgot what it means.

...

I haven't read all the posts above.

But I recall the original formulation of Occam's Razor to be "thou shalt not multiply entities beyond necessity."

It is a principle of parsimony addressed directly to the question of whether there is one or more deities.

Occam declared that there was nothing that could be explained by the existence of multiple deities, that could not also be explained by the existence of a single deity.

He may have been right or wrong about that.

Neither did he give any cogent argument to support his principle of parsimony, except perhaps convenience.

Furthermore, it is, like survival of the fittest, a tautology, ie "It is not necessary to multiply entities beyond what is necessary."

"Don't multiply entities beyond necessity," begs the question of how many entities are indeed necessary.

Be as simple as you can be is good advice only so long as your simple explanation has no conceivable shortcomings relative to an alternative and more complex explanation.

I trust that is clear.

"Ignore" is also a valid response.

Here I must agree. "Ignore" (deny?) and "Fail to See" are observable, frequent responses of animals to potential dangers.

No consideration of the many forms of seeking pleasure and warmth and acceptance within a group. Maybe I'm too dog-focused lately.
