There is That which was not born, nor created, nor evolved. If it were not so, there would never be any refuge from being born, or created, or evolving. That is the end of suffering. That is God**.

I'm a sucker for the solstice holidays myself. Even though I burned out on carols ages ago and am no longer even remotely 'Christian' in practice I have the classical station on right now, enjoying the seasonal music and hoping to catch a performance of Handel's Messiah.

From a basement somewhere in Seattle, Merry Christmas and Happy Solstice all of you!

and some beautiful chamber music for solstice in celebration of the Persian solstice holiday of Yalda courtesy of an Iranian anon:

The most beautiful Christmas song I know.

If anyone can find the Loreena McKinnitt version on video, on the internet, let me know!

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.

A high-powered theater critic applies his critical skills to the Christmas pageants at local elementary schools.

Merry Christmas, yokels. It's been a good year around here and glad I didn't miss a bit of it. Thanks for all the coverage and speculation, one and all!
