(Unfortunately minus Willow, but we look forward to the day you too visit. Like for your inevitable appearance, with Clitoris Monster, at a Whitney Biennial.)

Ha, no idea what the reference is about...and Im a total naive when it comes to NYC. But I'll mostly be in NYC proper and Brooklyn, maybe check out some other burroughs.

I seriously missed all your guy's braincandy and wit. Normal political forums just don't do it for me

Hmmmmm.... sounds like dada and pathological curve are practically my neighbors. I like the idea of meeting up at Barcade and playing Galaga.
Though, if drinking heavily is to be on the menu I'd unreservedly recommend The Turkey's Nest!!

Car bomb wall st?

Williamsburg is the hole of arty collaborators, but does have some hot boys and girls.

Old but gold would be Galapagos, lots of good qualities there with the other Williamsburg pap.

NY is like Singapore now. Intrinsically evil, trite, and disastrous.

Have a ball!

BTW Sadly I am a native New Yorker so I long ago earned the right to hate on the shitty. Dumping skinheads in the east river (actually an estuary) so enjoy no overt nazi presence.

Have a great time with all those busy strivers!
I will stick to my natural (Fukuoka) farm, alcohol still (fuel) and sniper range.

River Cafe at 8pm if you got $$$ and a date and like a filthy disgusting irresponsible skyline.

Lenox Lounge and St. Nicks if you like jazz. Just eat before you go.

You could set off a string of firecrackers at the ground zero memorial on a Saturday if you were a total hilarious dick, couldn't you?

Just remember, the #1 cause of arrest in the city Guiliani killed is public urination, so go in a crapper.

Talk about a target rich environment.

Anyway, who am I to bitch, I had to kill them all or leave so I left, what a flake, huh?

LOL! jcivil.

I hear you.

On a sad note Galapagos is no longer open. And North 6th street is very much like a mall now.

Despite everything there still is a lot of fun to be had in Brooklyn with some seriously creative and down-to-earth types still managing to survive and
make things happen. Despite the sudden influx of "economic diversity" to this formerly working class borough.

Rubulad, the long standing mother of all hipster underground parties is still going strong and remains one of the best Dionysian experiences offered to the masses.

On a sad note a giant Keds retail store is set to open on the South Side of Willaimsburg. Along with the W Hotel.

Viva La Economic Diversity! Those Wall Street Bailouts sure worked, didn't they?!!!

P.S. Jack! Its on!! I'm challenging you to a 8-bit duel - Galaga style!!

When the fake hipsters moved into alphabet city they drove out a fifty year established latino community. Largely as a group they shifted to Williamsburg to live with the Hasidic folk who had been moving in and moving out the blacks they had been slumlording to. The poor latnos did not get five years in their new home before the fake hipsters and architects dribbled in, mostly foreigners at first, seeking the "cool" ny was famous for, and finding none, creating a simulacrum of it. Then the "American" wannabes joined up and it became the 1993-2003 williamsburg I knew and hated. Because I am a sourpuss hater purist.

So, as for down to earth people, I got to hit the fields. Anyone with a conscience or creative ability should leave all cities to their pathetic ego fantasy lonesome.

Death to the enemies of reality.

Looks like a barcade meetup may be in the works here. How about Thursday evening, or Saturday afternoon?

Just to warn you, I'm pretty damn good at Galaga.

I hear you, jcivil. Some of us are too poor to leave, if that makes any sense. Right now my life consists of walking dogs for (barely) a living, making music with my band and playing video games. Not a very glamorous lifestyle, but there's a certain zen-like quality to it, I guess. I don't know. And I may be wrong, but I think there may be nowhere left to run to on this planet anyway. The assholes have ruined the whole thing. So I'm just trying to enjoy it wherever I am.

Mr A is performing in Cambridge on the 17th, but would be up for a round of Ms Pac Man and seltzer in the days leading up to that. I'm staying home with the tiny dogs.
"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

Aw I pretty much retired in my mid 20's:) And yay for music! I've been enjoying posting cryptic songs and videos to soundcloud and vimeo/youtube:) Im hoping New York provides the further boost I need for musical/film/art inspiration. I had a rather strange journey in my 34 years. Lack of a love life, money, success, social acceptance, etc for most of that has provided an interesting perspective I now can't entirely say I am unhappy with. I'm not even sure I'd feel among peers in Williamsburg(tm) or any other cool hunter area(Portland, Austin, etc)

Im so so on that. I remember never liking Joust though, even when it first came out. Xevious was always my game, as well as Congo Bongo, Tapper and Crystal Castles.

I see they have Contra, Rampage and Strider *hearts*
