Why didn't you just post the rest of the article written by the Democratic strategist Bill Buck?

Remember Dan Rather? I imagine Buck does too.

I looked at it - hard. I don't see writing or text of any kind on the item he placed on the podium, as much as it would cheer me to.

Look again:

Are we cheerful yet? :D

I don't have a tee vee. Believe it or not, they showed the debate on the internet. What'll they think of next?

Too bad Nordic has me on ignore or he could have clicked the C-SPAN link I posted. :D

You're too much man. This reminds me of the discussion we had about the Utoya photographs.

I don't see text or writing on that white material on the podium. But if you zoom in and enhance...

Did you see Mittles drawing penises or anything else during the debate? I didn't. Obama was the guy with his head down, remember? You thought it was so strange? Yet Romney somehow accumulated an awful lot of notes:

Or is that his handkerchief collection he's got spread out in front of him?

I don't see any room for doubt in those pics, there is no cloth involved there. It's notes.

C'mon. Romney can be seen taking copious notes at several points during the debate, for example at about the 31:00 minute point here. I think we can safely assume that he took notes even during periods of the debate when the camera was not on him!! Imagine that.

The point is not whether or not he had notes in front of him at any point during the debate. It's whether or not you can be sure that he took notes out of his pocket as he walked to the podium and threw them on the desk. I don't see it as conclusive. If you do, you're partisan, imho. Nothing wrong with that, in and of itself.

And as I said before - it doesn't matter. You win by winning, not by rule-following. This is fucking America.

Unless you get caught cheating. Then you lose:

What a distraction from discussing Romney's more disturbing conduct or issues.

The ruling body which governs the Tour de France, the Union Cycliste Internationale, has not stripped Armstrong of his titles, and they are the only group with the authority to do so. He has not been required to return his awards or his prize money, nor have any of the other, lower qualifying finishers of his seven Tour victories been awarded higher place finishes or Tour titles in vacancy of his name from the only official records of those races, those of the UCI. So as things stand at the moment, your headline is a bit misleading.

Similarly, the Commission on Presidential Debates, the only determinative ruling body that might have standing to in any way officially punish Romney's alleged rule breaking, has made no ruling or statement that in any manner validates your position. So he has not been caught doing anything but winning the debate, as far as I'm aware.

Looks to me like Mittles lost.

I'm happy for you that it looks that way to you. But the entire rest of the world is saying Romney won the debate. So your tightly held win has got to ring a bit hollow, I would think. But I guess that's a personal consideration.

Fascinated that this is a topic of conversation here. Though I really shouldn't be, considering the overall theme of the other related threads.

Clearly, there are those here that continue to hold fast to the narratives being fabricated for our consumption.

"He cheated!" ... "his 'win' doesn't count!"

Laughable, really.

As if it makes an F'ing difference.

But don't mind me. By all means, please return to your regularly scheduled programming.

And in America, Armstrong lost. The USADA is an American organization:

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency stripped Lance Armstrong's seven Tour de France titles Friday, erasing one of the most incredible achievements in sports after deciding he had used performance-enhancing drugs to do it.

So enjoy Mittles' victory while you can because justice is a-comin'. :naughty:

Again, the USADA has no standing to strip Armstrong of his Tour wins. Nor can they fine him any of his $125 million dollar fortune accrued from those contests and the fame associated with them. They can, though, ban him from competition, which they have done. Unfortunately, Armstrong had already retired at the age of 41 last February. So fail.

In France, Lance won: he still holds the titles. In America, Lance won: he won one-eighth of a billion dollars by riding a bicycle. Did he cheat? Almost certainly. Did he win? In every way.

I despise Romney. What I'm enjoying is watching you writhe.

But my guess is that even if Obama had drawn a broadsword from behind his podium and hacked Romney's head off with it in full view of Jim Lehrer and the assembled crowd he'd still get your vote, if not your applause. And there's no shame in that. Well, mostly.

Romney’s Strong Debate Performance Erases Obama’s Lead

Mitt Romney no longer trails Barack Obama in the Pew Research Center’s presidential election polling. By about three-to-one, voters say Romney did a better job than Obama in the Oct. 3 debate, and the Republican is now better regarded on most personal dimensions and on most issues than he was in September. Romney is seen as the candidate who has new ideas and is viewed as better able than Obama to improve the jobs situation and reduce the budget deficit.

Fully 66% of registered voters say Romney did the better job in last Wednesday’s debate, compared with just 20% who say Obama did better. A majority (64%) of voters who watched the debate describe it as mostly informative; just 26% say it was mostly confusing.

In turn, Romney has drawn even with Obama in the presidential race among registered voters (46% to 46%) after trailing by nine points (42% to 51%) in September. Among likely voters, Romney holds a slight 49% to 45% edge over Obama. He trailed by eight points among likely voters last month.

The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Oct. 4-7 among 1,511 adults, including 1,201 registered voters (1,112 likely voters), finds that 67% of Romney’s backers support him strongly, up from 56% last month. For the first time in the campaign, Romney draws as much strong support as does Obama.

More generally, the poll finds Romney’s supporters far more engaged in the campaign than they were in September. Fully 82% say they have given a lot of thought to the election, up from 73% in September. The new survey finds that Romney supporters hold a 15-point advantage over Obama backers on this key engagement measure. Supporters on both sides were about even in September.

Coming out of the debate, Mitt Romney’s personal image has improved. His favorable rating has hit 50% among registered voters for the first time in Pew Research Center surveys and has risen five points since September. At the same time, Obama’s personal favorability rating has fallen from 55% to 49%.

In the presidential horserace, Romney has made sizable gains over the past month among women voters, white non-Hispanics and those younger than 50. Currently, women are evenly divided (47% Obama, 47% Romney). Last month, Obama led Romney by 18 points (56% to 38%) among women likely voters.

Obama appeared either drugged or altered in that debate. He's such a good boy, was that really necessary? Makes me wonder what's up.
