I usually think of the current president as The Ventriloquists' articulate (Obama) or inarticulate (George W) puppet/dummy. Since this election offers even more than the usual mishmash of mixed metaphors, I'll add that Trump strikes me as both the Carnival Barker and The Carnival--he's not so much producer Stanley Motts as The 'Pageant' Motts creates in 'Wag the Dog'. imo.

The fact that the republican party is going kerblooie over Trump is wonderful. I loved watching Jeb get his ass handed to him at the debates. Trump has managed to mention several elephants in the room, including the tremendous fucking U.S. citizens are taking from the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. He also came right out and called Bush the Stupider and his gang of criminals liars in the run up to Iraq.

If the election were held today, I'd vote for Bernie because he seems to come as close to someone I could actually support as I've seen in decades. But Trump's antics are hilarious, as are the goobers sitting in the audience who support his filthy rich ass.
