There have only been two almost credible reports of Trump supporters being attacked, vs. dozens of attacks (and some murders) by Trump supporters plus hundreds of threats.

it wasn't 47 percent of Americans that voted for Trump...it was 1/4

and I don't need to unfriend them because I never was a friend to any of them anyway

it would be much better to friend people who don't vote and tell them why it is important...but after Trump they may understand that very well without my help

and people in the south have to understand the Democratic Party is not just for Black people

Jaime Harrison, chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party is trying to do something about that
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.

Everyone knows Bill Maher is unintelligent. Watch him try to argue with anyone in the ruling elite on his show. He misses every opportunity to truly take them down and I don't even think it's on purpose.

While waiting for the Democratic Party to change, I think the left should organize (as one) for the really impossible shit under Trump: 1) an end to all fossil fuel extraction, 2) universal healthcare, and 3) universal basic income.

Wow. I didn't expect this shit to extend across the border to Canada.

Racist attack by Trump supporter caught on camera: ‘You’re a little b*tch, eh?’

ImageRacist man attacks another on Toronto streetcar (Photo: screen capture)

Freelance writer Valeska Griffiths was on the St. Clair Avenue streetcar in Toronto when she encountered a racist that left the whole car horrified.

On the video she captured, a man in a blue hoodie and hard hat is being held back from a dark-skinned victim. The man claims he was punched in the face, though no one witnessed the incident, CBC reported.

“Next time you punch me in the face I promise you’re getting buried,” the man said as two women force him off the streetcar. “Are you stupid? Are you stupid? Are you stupid?” the man asked over and over again. “Don’t worry, man, I’ll remember your face. On Jesus. On Jesus, eh?”

“You’re a little b*tch, eh? Welcome to Canada,” he yells back.

Griffiths eventually lost her cool and called the man a “f*cking racist.” She said that the man responded by saying he was proud of his racism. He then shouted, “Go Trump!”

The video shows the man saying, “these people think they have the right to assault us.” He then called the victim stupid and alleges, “he’s not from around this town, I can tell by his face.”

The streetcar driver ultimately stopped and waited for police to intervene.

Police spoke with both of the men involved and allowed the man being yelled at to return to his seat on the streetcar.

The officer explained that there was shoving between the two but the accuser admitted there were no punches thrown. Neither man opted to press charges.

Griffiths noted that the victim was shaken by the incident. “He kept apologizing for wasting my time, which broke my heart,” she said. “He showed a lot more grace than I would have.”

The video shows commuters reassuring the victim that he did nothing wrong. One person explains that “everyone here” isn’t like that.

Transit spokesman Brad Ross said that the transit system must be a safe place for all riders.

“We will continue to work with police to ensure incidents like the one in the video are the exception and not the rule,” he said in a statement.

Check Jeff's FB for some other reports on vile incidents in TO and Ottawa. I've overheard some jarring pro-Trump chatter in Northern Ontario as well. ("Trump's got it right... fuckin' Ali Babas get everything they want here.")

There's been a lot of violence against Trump supporters too, which makes me think there is a hidden power that wants to see both sides go nuts.

I mentioned this awhile back in the Alt Right thread, but theres literally hundreds of these "Moon Man" music videos and songs, each with thousands to hundreds
of thousands of views. Mostly watched by young kids. If people think Pepe memes or Alt Right Twitter accounts are bad....
"Moon Man" is the 1980s Mcdonalds icon Mac Tonite reappropriated into a violent racist rap star who sings about killing Gays, Blacks, Mexicans, Arabs, Women, etc
in gruesome ways. Often using gangster rap or classic rock songs as a parody. Many of these songs make S--Front sound like Mother Jones or Noam Chomsky

Yikes! Thanks for sharing, 8bit. I really wasn't aware of the Moon Man meme, so I appreciate the link.

I also worry about the Elite trying to foster a civil war. At this point, I don't think there's an equivalency on both sides. SPLC has documented more than 200 incidents of hate crimes since Election Day. I believe the overwhelming majority have been against minorities, but I don't have an exact breakdown yet.

Make that 300.

Hundreds of Hate Crimes Reported Since Election: SPLC

by Chelsea Bailey

More than 300 incidents of harassment or intimidation have been reported following Donald Trump's election Tuesday night, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) told NBC News Monday.

The SPLC first published its report on post-election incidents on Friday but said reports have continued to stream in. They found that harassment most commonly occurred in K-12 schools and on university campuses. Many, though not all incidents, involved direct references to the Trump campaign, according to the group's report.

The anti-intolerance watchdog said it will continue to tally incidents of hate and harassment reported through social media, news reports and direct submissions to its website.

The Law Center said they were unable to independently verify each incident reported, but NBC News has separately confirmed dozens.

Some incidents of hate crimes that NBC News has confirmed independently:

On Sunday, a rector found the words "Trump Nation, Whites Only" scrawled on the walls of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Silver Spring, Maryland. The church offers weekly Spanish-language services.
The University of Michigan issued a campus safety alert Sunday after a Muslim student told police a white male demanded she remove her hijab or he would "set her on fire with a lighter." Police are investigating.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered state police to open a multi-agency hate crimes investigation into reports that a swastika and the word "Trump" was spray painted on the walls of a residence hall at SUNY Geneseo.
In Philadelphia, police are searching for the man who grafittied "Trump Rules" and "Black B----" onto the hood of a woman's van.
Parishioners found graffiti on the walls of St. David's Episcopal Church in Indiana. A swastika, "Heil Trump" and "F-- Church" were spray painted on the walls of the church, which performs same-sex weddings, WTHR reports.
"Colored" and "Whites Only" signs were placed above drinking fountains at First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida, a district spokeswoman confirmed with NBC News.
Mere hours after Trump won the election, "Make America White Again" was scrawled across the wall of a softball field in Wellsville, New York. Police are investigating.

Also on Monday, the FBI'S Uniform Crime Reporting division also released its annual "Hate Crimes Statistics" report, tracking the number of bias-motivated incidents reported to law enforcement officials in 2015. The number of hate crimes rose 6 percent in 2015, according to the report, and the vast majority (59 percent) of victims were targeted because of their race or ethnicity.

Attacks motivated by religious bias and sexual orientation were also among the most frequently reported types of hate crimes. The number of reported anti-Muslim hate crimes spiked in 2015, growing by an astonishing 66 percent, according to the FBI report.

In all, more than 5,800 incidents of hate crimes were reported to authorities, involving 7,121 victims. Of the known offenders, "48.4 percent were white, 24.3 percent were African American, and race was unknown for 16.2 percent of offenders," according to the report.

In addition to monitoring anti-Arab bias, the report also tracked incidents of anti-religious bias for seven additional religions for the first time. The expanded report now tracks anti-religious bias against Buddhist, Eastern Orthodox, Hindu, Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Sikh and other Christian victims.

Monday's report marks the 25th anniversary of the FBI's efforts to compile data around hate crimes. The report contains data from nearly 15,000 law enforcement agencies.

I remember in Walter Mosley's Futureland, which I believe was written in 2000 or 2001, there was a group of International Nazis who called themselves Itsies. Of course, that was only fiction.

Right-Wing German Hate Groups Plan Attacks With American Counterparts Emboldened by Trump
A German intelligence official confirms that Steve Bannon's disturbing vision of a worldwide far-right is coming true.
By Kali Holloway / AlterNet
November 17, 2016

Throughout his campaign, Donald Trump exploited existing racist and xenophobic sentiments across his base. Since he launched his election bid 18 months ago, a number of hate crimes have carried out by whites who openly admitted being inspired by Trump’s rhetoric. Since the election, racial and religious minorities have reported being targets in an unprecedented number of attacks.

Now the head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency has warned that right-wing terrorists in his country are likely networking internationally—including with hate group members in the United States—to carry out more race and religion-based attacks. Hans-Georg Maassen, who leads the Verfassungsschutz, talked to Reuters about concerns that groups sharing extremist views—in the U.S., this likely includes those emboldened by Trump’s run—may link, creating “right-wing terrorist cells.”

"This is not just purely a German phenomenon," Maassen told Reuters. "The right-extremist scene is networking on a European level, and in some cases, with connections in the United States."

This past June, the Verfassungsschutz released findings indicating far-right incidents of violence in Germany increased an astounding 42 percent in 2015. In the U.S., according to an FBI report released days ago, hate crimes increased 6 percent in 2015, with 57 percent of those against African Americans, while attacks on Muslims increased 67 percent over the year prior. A Southern Poverty Law Center investigation found the number of U.S.-based hate groups rose 14 percent in the single year between 2014 and 2015.

"We have seen in a series of cases that there are numerous people in the far-right extremist scene who are ready to do anything and who have joined forces to create right-wing terrorist cells," Maassen said. "We are trying to investigate these cells, if they exist, and to prevent any attacks.”

In an interview with “60 Minutes” on Sunday, Trump did the absolute minimum to urge his supporters to end their attacks on racial and religious minorities, telling them to “stop it.” The same day, the president-elect announced his campaign head, Steve Bannon—who is closely aligned with the white supremacist and nationalist movement rebranded as the alt-right—will be assuming the position of chief strategist in the White House. For four years, Bannon led Breitbart; this August, he bragged that the website is “the platform of the alt-right.” Bannon has publicly complained about the number of Asians in tech CEO positions, published many stories bemoaning ethnic diversity in the U.S. and labeled feminists “a bunch of dykes.” He brings those attitudes to his position guiding policy decisions with the most underprepared president in history.

The Daily Beast notest that under Bannon, Breitbart carried favorable coverage of a number of international far-right parties, including "the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), Alternative for Germany (AfD), and the Party for Freedom Party (PVV) in the Netherlands." Trump's win has also gotten high praise from leaders of those political groups.

Rather than post the text, have a look and see a counterpoint (with a lot of evidence based rationale) for why the hysterical extremes of the Clinton campaign might be somewhat exaggerated and the truth about who Trump is and what he represents might be a lot more complex (and close to home) than we want to face (there's a lot of embedded links, graphics, and formatting that won't c&p well). Agree or disagree - it's a very cogent, and well argued and researched position.

Dem senator: FBI should probe hate crime increase
BY JORDAIN CARNEY - 11/17/16 11:55 AM EST 155

Dem senator: FBI should probe hate crime increase

Sen. Cory Booker is asking the Obama administration to investigate a recent increase in hate crimes.

The New Jersey Democrat sent a letter to FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Loretta Lynch Thursday asking them to "investigate the recent wave of press-reported hate crimes occurring throughout our nation."
"These acts of violence and terror cannot be tolerated and they deserve the utmost scrutiny by our nation’s federal law enforcement officials," Booker wrote in the letter. "The DOJ and FBI have a critical role in combating discrimination and the horrible violence that all too often accompanies it."

The FBI's 2015 Hate Crimes Statistics report, released on Monday, found that hate crimes increased by more than 6 percent last year overall.

Hate crimes specifically targeting Muslims increased by 67 percent, according to the report.

Booker also pointed to a Southern Poverty Law Center report that found more than 400 incidents of harassment since Donald Trump's White House win last week.

"I am deeply troubled by the latest findings in the FBI’s 2015 Hate Crime Statistics report that show a spike in hate crimes against Muslim Americans, and recent news stories that have detailed numerous hateful acts since Election Day," he added.

Booker is asking the DOJ and the FBI to hand over their plans "to combat the rising number of hate crimes occurring nationwide" by Dec. 14.

Booker's letter comes as Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) took to the Senate floor on Thursday morning and called on Trump to take a tougher stance against the reported targeting of minorities.

"There are ... sickening acts of hate, prejudice and simple meanness," Reid said. "There's only one person who can bring a stop to that quickly, and that's the president-elect. Our nation is looking at Donald Trump."

Trump, during a "60 Minutes" interview that aired last weekend, called the reports of harassment "terrible" and said he would "bring this country together."

"I am so saddened to hear that," he said. "And I say 'stop it.' If it helps, I will say this, and I will say it right to the cameras: Stop it."

Cory Brooker is a disgusting, neoliberal piece of shit who destroyed public education in Newark when he was mayor there. Just so we can move past the idea he actually cares about other human beings in any way, shape, or form.
