I find it amusing that Jack speaks of my vagina but a bit miffed that my vagina has to share a post with the word dinosaur :P

They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.

You're a bit muffed about what? :jumping:

Sorry that's what I saw upon the quick scan. I seriously do not have a dirty mind.

I kind of just want to talk about mokele-mbembe on a Trump thread since this is rigorous intuition and I can feel safe enough to explore the idea that a modern descendent of a brontosaurus might very well coexist with humans in the Congo River Basin.

Well... with Trump still contending for the presidency while suggesting that his followers go ahead and kill Hillary, I think you can feel safe that a Congo Bronto doesn't sound ludicrous at all.

That was a dumb as a box of rocks campaign strategy. He could have gotten almost unlimited mileage from the "deplorables" comment and he will still get some miles from it but this stupid comment he made will cost him some mileage probably. The Clinton campaign should pounce on that.

It didn't cost Trump the last time he insinuated assassination and it won't now. His supporters are diehards and would celebrate it if he did the deed himself. I can't fathom anything he could say or do, no matter how egregious, that would erode support with his base. He is king of the trolls.

...I have to say I thought Trump's comment was a rather clever gotcha about "do as I say not as I do" hypocrisy that might resonate quite strongly with people in their current disaffected mood towards the political class who appear entirely insulated from the effects of the policies they are prescribing for their voters.....I mean he knows perfectly well elite protection officers aren't going to disarm....

What subculture of guys wears Hawaiian shirts and combat boots?

They were youngish, athletic or at least large, almost all wearing loud Hawaiian shirts, ordinary looking shorts, and dark-colored combat boots. They were almost (99%) all white and mostly had short hair. A minority (5%) had a more biker look with long hair, flag-colored headwraps, and loudly patriotic shirts. They assembled at a national park, so they didn't display any overt political affiliation. I didn't see any picnic or game equipment. I sensed a drunken (at 11 AM!) fraternity bro vibe so I didn't want to hang out around them or even stop to ask them.

This is in a part of the East Coast where guys normally do not dress this way. I was not the only park-goer noticing this group.

Googling "Hawaiian shirts" and "combat boots" is getting me nowhere, though I do stumble across some alt-right sites, such as http://www.theartofmanliness.com advising Hawaiian shirts for casual concealed carry.

Can any of you identify the group/subculture?

I am OK with their being frat boys, sports fans, or military, but I'd be worried about their being MRAs or Trumpists. Hawaiian shirts with concealed guns and combat boots would make a perfect uniform for Trumpist brownshirts getting ready for PARTY TIME in a dystopian very near future. They did have that feeling, not quite "Nazi Brownshirts vacation in Hawaii."

On the other hand, apophenia... paranoia from lack of sleep from reading the Trump and Hillary threads...

Any Easterners here have any idea what this is all about?

I've had several really helpful articles from that site bookmarked for ages. What about it is "alt-right"?

‘A Two-Bit Racial Arsonist’: Watch the Entire Congressional Black Caucus Nuke Trump’s Birther Remarks
Trump's newest lie claims that Hillary first raised the issue of Obama’s birth certificate.
By Brad Reed / Raw Story September 17, 2016

Donald Trump had an opportunity to apologize for stoking conspiracy theories about Barack Obama’s birth certificate on Friday… and he declined to do so.

In fact, while acknowledging the fact that Obama was really born in the United States, Trump told a new lie by claiming that it was Hillary Clinton who first raised the issue of Obama’s birth certificate back in 2008.

The entire Congressional Black Caucus held a press conference on Friday afternoon in which they tore Trump’s birther remarks to pieces and say it was unacceptable that such a bigoted person should ever become president.

Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) said that while there’s nothing new about the use of racial dog whistles in American politics, what Trump is promoting is far louder and more insidious than any politician in recent memory.

“One of the things that we are all used to in this business is dog whistles,” he said. “But the thing that we’re not used to… are the howls of wolves. These are howls, these are not whistles. These are in-your-face kinds of efforts on the part of one man… in order to heap indignities on the President of the United States.”

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) was even more blunt about Trump.

“He has lived a life of bigotry,” she said. “If you view America as a land of value and equality and justice, this man cannot be elected. We as African Americans have had enough. He has debased this election, but more importantly, he has disgraced himself in his lack of respect for the President of the United States of America.”

Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) called out Trump for being a shameless liar — and not just about President Obama’s birth certificate.

“This is not the first time he has lied — he continues to lie,” Meeks fumed. “He’s lied and he’s divided this country enough. He lied about Muslims, saying he saw thousands of them [celebrating] when the World Trade Center went down. He’s lied about Mexicans, he’s lied about women, and members of the Congressional Black Caucus are not going to take it anymore.”

Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) also ripped Trump for being a “disgusting fraud,” while Rep. Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY) called Trump “a two-bit racial arsonist.”

Think about how boring this election would be, if it had been the long telegraphed Jeb! or Marco or Cruz vs Hillary general election? Hollywood writers couldn't have scripted how loveably sad and pathetic JEB!
would turn out to be. Ted Cruz melted weird face offends anyone who isn't a diehard Glenn Beck Blaze subscriber. And Marco...well, no fucking way they were going to let a "brown" man in as the Republican tentpole.

It's all been building to this. Idiocracy wasn't the first to give us a nudge. Neither was Doonesbury.

How can I tell that no longer do I think Trump is just a slick way for the Clintons to get into the white house by running unopposed to Bill's weird sexist racist billionare friend?
People love a Republican celebrity. Ronald Reagan, Jesse Ventura(indie, yes, but more libertarian right than left), and Arnold Schwarzennegger

I follow The Young Turks, MSNBC, Huffpo, Daily Beast, DailyKos, Atlantic. Every day it's a massive tower of Babel sized litany of legit reasons people
should be shocked, outraged and infuriated at The Donald; and why Trump should have long ago been disqualified. But it's like pellets trying to shoot King Kong off the Empire State Building.
To me the reason why Trump is pretty much untouchable now days is due to a number of things, despite ultra progressive youth and female empowered social media and buying power.
It's a mixture of both the left right, young and old hating the "establishment" be they neocon or neolib war establishment, celebrity worship, backlash to political correctness,
and the Overton Window smashed into unrecognizable pieces. Polls keep showing no matter how many college students Bernie Sanders, and Barack and Michelle Obama preach to,
millennials just aren't interested at all in Hillary

There is a clear trajectory Trump has been on since June 2015, since really the 1980's, and all the George Clooney Brad Pitt fundraiser millions and door-to-door outreach isn't going
to change the fact she does not have the "Obama" 2008/2012 coalition behind her when it comes to who is ultimately going to pencil a dot next to her name.
No Russian hackers needed, unless there's some atomic self inflicted wound or revelation, I predict Donald Trump is getting sworn in on January 20th.
