Jack, you seem to act like a moderator, although you are not.

You also act like you own this site, which you do not.

You are a smart guy, and a great contributor to this site. But you can also be a really clique-ish asshole.

Heaven forbid someone on this site should DARE disagree with your opinions.

And yes, the misogyny thread is (as I have alluded to before) like a coal seem fire. It will never go out. Never. And it's polluting the ENTIRE SITE now.

(cough cough gag gag).

I'm really sick of this bullshit here, and Jack, if you don't want to call it "political correctness" that's your fucking problem because that's exactly WHAT IT IS. You and Barracuda, both. You act as censors. I refuse, in case you haven't noticed, to censor my brain, my thoughts, or my writing, for anyone. I am as sensitive to others as anyone you'll ever care to meet. So if you don't like what I have to say, why don't you fucking ignore it?

And yes, why doesn't someone shut down the coal seam fire? I mean, who's there anyway, like three people? I haven't even READ that fucking thread since page, god, I don't even know anymore. 15 or 20 pages I haven't touched it. Who would? Except those who are doing the burning.

We're supposed to talk about rape, without talking about rape. We're supposed to talk about one of the world's most powerful bankers possibly being set up, but NOT talk about him being possibly set up because MY GOD A WOMAN WAS RAPED. But was she? Maybe she was maybe she wasn't. None of us fucking know. It's not like the twin towers which we all saw fall into a smoking heap.

We don't know shit, so quit acting like you do.

And Jack, please quit acting like this is your own personal sandbox. It's not.

I mean, Jack, the other day you had the GALL to ask some other poster to go back to his post and correct some spelling mistake because it involved you. That's the kid of thing I'm talking about. Get a life outside of this place.

Enough. If you have further comments about the misogyny thread, take those comments there, please. If you have personal comments regarding other posters, use the pm function. This is simply disruption and dirty laundry.

Bullshit. It pollutes this whole site. My tolerance for this whole subject is nearing an end. Seemslikeadream and nordic are right. And if this shit does not come to an end I will take my research talent other places. I do a whole bunch of research for this place, hours, and then I don't post it because of the misogyny police. I'm tired of shit. Just sayin...Not that anybody will cry because this place will go on without me, and i'll still read it, but fuck it.....

edited because i'm too stupid to think about misogyny all day long and don't know how to spell it

My tolerance for more disruption here is nearing an end. Get back to the topic, or get off the thread.

And i'm sorry I am the king of edit after post, but I seldom say how I really feel in one post, even though I should.

Well, I'm sorry to have questioned the credibility of what happened, on second thoughts maybe it was misguided. It's obviously a very emotionally charged subject, which a lot of power to disrupt. Which also makes it ideal as a smearing tactic, and for generating distrust between men and women. Would be a shame if that happened here. Anyho, the guy's obviously a piece of shit and my mind boggles as to why I even got interested in it. Maybe the fact that it was a black woman being forced to oral sex did trigger my fantasy, it's hard to tell, I mean I think I was genuinely curious as to the likelihood of something like that happening, just from a practical point of view, and yes I also do think that women should put up a fight, not to blame them if they don't, but just as the best tactic, I think she could have taken that old guy out, that's abstracting from a lot of factors though and maybe seen from too manly a point of view, which like I said I do think is the best point of view in this case, just punch the guy... anyho, maybe my interest came from a dark side beneath the seemingly rational question, I don't know. Let's maybe just try and focus on the trial and the implications for the IMF of it all to get the topic back on track.

Now we're getting somewhere.

Alleged victim. Which also means alleged perpetrator.

The way you've been banging on in this thread it's a done deal. You know exactly what happened, who is guilty,
and who is innocent. There is no setup. String the guy up.

No the way I've been banging on in this thread is that its unacceptable to dismiss the (alleged) victim of an assault the way a particular poster did, because that poster has a hard-on for how original his thinking is and how he can see the truth when the rest of us are deluded fools.

The guy was head of the IMF, thats enough for him to strung up right there.

But that in itself is a separate issue to this event, and to posting stupid speculation by morons (MW, PCR) to try and minimise the idea that someone has reported a sexual assault.

A little acknowledgment that this may be a case where someone's life has been forever altered cos an elitist prick did what the elite do for a living is all I'm asking. It doesn't take that much effort to recognise this may be a rape, whatever the geopolitics surrounding it, and thats more than "unfortunate" for the victim.

Although one particular individual on this thread actually did something that constitutes misogyny on this thread and I cross posted it to that epic thread of doom over there, this isn't (just) about misogyny.

Its about race and economics as well.

(alleged) victim is black, (alleged) perp is white.

(alleged) victim is poor immigrant from Africa, (alleged) perp is rich VIP from Europe

See where all the power is?

1. Canadian_watcher is not a moderator.

I failed again. I was under the impression that Canadian Watcher had been deemed moderator status. I apologize if this is untrue.

Man I dunno .... that does sound like blaming the victim.

But to be fair its also my first reaction, I just don't know how trustworthy it is tho. I mean I assume thats what I'd do in the situation.

Full on situations can trigger all sorts of responses in people, some people shut down or react passively, especially if they have had prior trauma, or are under some sort of coercive pressure. Like being a poor immigrant worker in a hotel that hosts international VIPs in $3000 a night rooms. Wealth can be incredibly intimidating, as can architecture in places like NY and Washington.

Maybe the fact that it was a black woman being forced to oral sex did trigger my fantasy, it's hard to tell, I mean I think I was genuinely curious as to the likelihood of something like that happening,

Man perhaps you should have a good look at yourself in the mirror. You know what you're saying there don't you?

Don't get me wrong, ok.

There is nothing wrong with having a dark side - everyone does.

Its what you do with that dark side that counts.

Heaps of the worlds problems stem from people not acknowledging what demons drive them.

There is nothing wrong with having powerful drives inside you, ones that could make you want to slaughter God and rape the universe. Thats part of everyone's life force.

Those things exist.

if you are an adult human you are responsible for what you bring into the universe, and if you have that inside you're responsible for it. You can let it drive you or you can harness it and transform it into something that does stuff you'll be proud of in the last instants of your life. When you look back and judge what you did with this gift we have.

Did you read the posts where I said that I also think he's probably been set up? Have no fear of doing that.

eyeno wrote: But when I read that Canadian Watcher had been beaten/or abused by her husband (which I am sorry for I promise), and then allowed to bring that personal experience to damn near every thread around here lately I decided not to post the information. Sorry, but reality is what it is and that is my reality. I feel deeply for CW but if she could keep her hatred out of the rest of these threads it would help me transmit information. Otherwise, see ya........later. And with all best wishes, sincerely.

2 threads. The misogyny thread and this one. That experience (it wasn't my husband, BTW) sheds light, for me, on how easily someone might or might not be forced into sex. IS THAT NOT RELEVANT TO many, many of the posts here? If I gave you a study saying the same thing would it make you happier?

HATE? HATE? that is really fucking insulting.

Well I was just saying maybe it was weird of me to try and imagine how this could have been possible from a practical point of view, there's tons of newsstories to ponder so why pick this one you know? Just maybe a dark side to it, although I'm not sure, maybe it was just only practical curiosity. I mentioned the fact she's black mostly because on thinking about it, maybe that's why I perceived a difference between this case and previous accusations, which were white women, and also better educated. It's hard to be really sure about how thoughts arise though.

Again I edited. Sorry, I often do that. But my stance is the same. Leave US out of your personal life please so we can discuss what is happening in the world. I'm your best friend. I hate what happened, but please stop polluting and ruling. That is about all I can say. I too have deep personal experiences but I won't rule the board with them. See?
