The masses (american, at least) are generally more interested in who will be the next American Idol, than they are in whether their leaders are Satanic pedophiles.

They shut their eyes to the truth and bury their heads in vapid consumerism, trying desperately to validate their existence by buying an iPod from WalMart.

Sarcastic answer: because you don't know how to use the internet properly?

Would you care to elaborate on this smartass comment?

Ok, sorry, it wasn't very clear... I should have said "because you don't understand how search engines work."

Or do you honestly believe that there's some sort of an advanced method for typing a fecking keyword for a general search in the Google engine

Haha amazing! Funniest thing i've read here for a while.

Yes!

I HONESTLY BELIEVE there's advanced methods for typing a search into google!

Because..... IT'S TRUE!

Guess what? THERE'S EVEN A LINK TITLED "ADVANCED SEARCH" right next to the search button.

So here's your first lesson in advanced googling :)

- type "tv psyop" in inverted commas! -

First result:

FPF - HENK RUYSSENAARS: Whistle blower leaks UK plans for Iran + ...
Whistle blower leaks UK plans for Iran + German TV psyop. UK leak: FIXING FACTS AROUND THE WAR POLICY FPF: IRAN PSYOP STORY FROM GERMAN ARD TV ...
forpressfound.blogspot.com/2006/03/whistle-blower-leaks-uk-plans-for-iran_27.html - 31k -

The reason i jokingly said you don't know how to use google is that "tv psyop" just isn't a good search string... it's not actually a phrase, it's just two abbreviations. Think about it; there's not many instances where someone would us "tv psyop" in a sentance, thus not many where it would appear on a website, thus not many relevent results. No sinister keyjacking plot here, just that you're searching for a phrase which is vague and not commonly used.

Try googling 'television Psychological operations' then tell me about 'keyword hijacking'

Google is actually a pretty bad search engine these days, but you can still get pretty decent results if you actually use your brain for thinking about what you're searching for as opposed to constructing paranoid fantasies.

When logic fails, one must rigorously intuit.

Yeah but you know... give logic a shot first at least...? :?

Note that I said general search, not advanced search.

Note that I said TV psyop, rather than "television psychological operations".

That is because 90% of the search engine users, would/will type "tv psyop" into a general search and go no futher than reading the results from the first 5 posts on the first page.

I know this because I was told so by an engineer from Google who consults with the company I work for.
I also knows this because I have common sense; a quality that you seem to be lacking, much to your detriment.

Note that you completely missed the point in your vain attempt to sound superior and now look like a dimwitted twit.

Ok, "keyword hijacking" is clearly not total utter insane stupid nonsense then, and you're clearly an expert google user, I stand corrected.

And clearly people who want to find things out on the internet will always immediately give up at the first hurdle. "Mutual exclusivity" remember.

(Seriously, the matter is irrelevent because only conspiracy fan scene enthusiasts like ourselves would really even use the term "psyop" anyway. It can't really be 'hijacked' because to even know or use the word is to have a pre-existing understanding of the concept of psychological operations.)

Serious reply:

Note that I said general search, not advanced search.

So? the advanced method of doing a general search is to use your brain and not type the worthless search string "tv psyop", or to use advanced search.

Where are this mythical %90 of unwashed sheeple getting the clunky phrase "tv psyop" from anyway? Don't blame keyword hijacking just because you searched for something that there's simply not many valid results for.

Note that you completely missed the point in your vain attempt to sound superior and now look like a dimwitted twit.

Your 'point' was that an entire working advertising agency was specially set up and named "psyop" and given a .tv domain, just to make some conspiracy/news sites slide 5 places down the google listings when you search for a vague and abbreviated phrase that's not in common use, right? Have i missed anything?

Come on... there's a wikipedia page for "Psychological operations (United States)" on the first page of google... If this kind of 'keyjacking' is real, then it's the most ludicrous, unsuccessful waste of time and money the US government ever embarked on, and that's saying something!!

Yes, orz the link is on the first page, buried beneath 4 dead links.
The link at the bottom, (which discusses current and not "theoretical or historic" psyops) has been pushed there by the 4 dead links on top of it.

I already discussed that and brought up the fact that 90% of the people who use search engines only look at the first 5 links, which is why it behooves intelligence agencies, or whoever, to push "controversial" topics to the bottom, where they will be unread.

I know you're not very bright, but please try and keep up.

Ignoring the ignorant ramblings of the deluded and cynical, for a moment....

I got the feeling from the the threadstarter that he was wondering if there was some kind of "hidden messages" or "hidden frames" in the Ambien commercial, flashing too quickly for the eye to pick up.
Scientists have theorized that messages shown in such a way can influence the subconcious mind; such as the one hidden in the Lion King, where the dust swirls in one scene to form the word "SEX".

Image

I honestly believe that many companies do this on purpose, such as the way one was able to re-arrange Pepsi cans in 1990 to form the word "SEX".

There are many examples of this and I've got some more interesting examples that I'll post later.

But as I already discussed, or tried to, it's a logical fallacy to jump to the unlikely conclusion that in this particular case, the CIA have started a production company to disrupt this specific obscure web search.

Incidentally, those links aren't even all broken as you claim.

Also a google for 'psyop' alone delivers a wealth of information on psychological operations from both "sides'.

And you never answered my serious question: why are these %90 of lazy internet users even searching "tv psyop" in the first place?

Definitely lots of valid examples of that kind of thing. Would be interesting to know how many are planned subliminal messages and how many the work of bored/subversive/disgruntled animators/designers. A bit of both I guess.

Life Magazine and other MSM used to have articles

Postby NavnDansk » Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:58 pm

Life Magazine and other MSM used to have articles on subliminal effect in films and TV. A very memorable article in LIFE was called 24 FRAMES PER SECOND. I don't keep up with the MSM but it had occurred to me when I used to that it had been years and years since there was any mention of subliminal effect.

Although there was that flap about Cheney with either the X or the L over his face. How did the people on this board first learn about subliminals? If anyone can remember. I remember reading Huxley's Brave New World REVISITED about the same time as LIFE where he discusses and warns against subliminal effect and ads - they always used to mention the brief flash of a hamburger or popcorn beneath awareness and the fantastic business the movie theater did at intermission in the food stand.

Can subliminals be used on the Internet - someone mentioned something about the refresh rate on computers as well as TV on RI but I don't remember it clearly?

Pan isn't as bad as he used to be, best to ignore, some posters with interesting things to say left permanently because of Pan's poking and jabbing. Someone mentioned that they missed Cassandra who left after Pan "got her goat". I haven't seen Rothbardian around for awhile and remember how Pan reamed him for a post to do with whales after giving him a very hard time on every thread Rothbard started. And I remember a very hot thread with FouthBase....

Can't remember but I do recall as a kid going to some TV studio tour/museum which included a demonstration of subliminals and explanation that it wasn't allowed...

Yes, I remember always reading that it was in experiments

Postby NavnDansk » Tue Jan 09, 2007 5:05 pm

Yes, I remember always reading that it was in experiments and along with actual hypnosis was not allowed on the airwaves or movies. Would like to know what the law says now but that doesn't stop bush or his employers. I guess it went the way of the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE OF EQUAL TIME for political ideas and campaigns.

Pan is a troublemaker from way back but he isn't as bad as he used to be, best to ignore, some posters with interesting things to say left permanently because of Pan's poking and jabbing. Someone mentioned that they missed Cassandra who left after Pan "got her goat".

Troublemaker? WTF?

Man, some of y'all have some serious persecution issues.

And this is particularly funny because I posted a long time ago about my collection of subliminal (print) ads. I used to have a huge collection of them.

But as Orz pointed out, jumping to the assumption that a google search is crafted to hide "tv psyop" (and odd choice for a search term) makes no sense. And as I first pointed out, the links google serves up AREN'T "dead links" as Nemo first stated.

Guess I'll go make more trouble and cause more defections from the board....

dbeach, you missed out:

...and sometimes interesting coincidences coalesce out of the bazillions of possibilities. Read up on synchronicity for some mind-blowing examples -- it's best to start with Jung, who coined the word.

I remember that thread (I was a mostly a lurker back then). A bit manipulative, to not quote the sentence in full?

PP gets a raw deal from some on this board because he challenges people's theories.

I don't see anything wrong with that - it's the enquiring minds that keep this board honest. Nobody is perfect, and I know there are factions, but people should take each post on merit, not reputation.

Thanks,
