Something one of you lot said in a post (too lazy to check who) was that when you see something incredible like a rainbow all those around you are oblivious to it.. Which reminded me of of many things not least Chemtrails but also when there's hardly any moon and there is no cloud and you can see hundreds of stars or as happened a couple of weeks back... I was with some friends in my garden on a hot summer afternoon with no clouds except one small puffy one that before our eyes in the space of a minute or two got smaller and smaller then disappered then a minute later started to reform in exactly the same spot, this repeated five times and i was amazed but the others..'meh'. Nature is astounding at times but people are too ... I just dont know.

No. Not funny at all. And the interpretation of it as such is downright depressing. Are we really so broken as a culture? Is empathy really so strangled? Rapturous or Wonderful or HOLY, I think, better fit the bill.

I do have to admit that for the first minute or so, I felt a little uncomfortable watching it. Not because I thought it was funny or embarrassing, but because I felt oddly voyeuristic at being witness to such an intimate, sacred moment. Soon, though, I felt myself carried along with him, and found myself smiling and tearing up. Not so much at the rainbow itself, which I'm sure was much more spectacular in person, but at the sheer joy and wonder being felt by another human being, and being expressed in such a unhindered fashion.

By the way, the general reaction displayed in the comments here perfectly illuminate why I love this board so much. Thanks everyone.

Yes. And perhaps because it's a man letting go, we're touched even more, given how emotionally repressed men are expected to be in this society. (ninakat is a man, for those who aren't aware)

I wanted to comment earlier, but now even moreso. After sending the video to a couple of friends, I got 'meh' from one, and 'had to turn off the soundtrack because the guy sounded stoned' from the other. I'm pretty disappointed.

Your cloud experience sounded fucking amazing. I would have been mesmerized and in awe. What is wrong with people who aren't? I think 82_28 explained it well. Makes me very, very sad.

I lived on a mountain for 11 years, similar to the one in the video, but in Virginia. Watching this brings back a lot of memories of the expansive views and incredible weather patterns that we witnessed on a daily basis, along with many a wild creature. I miss that connection with nature, although I have an extensive garden now -- it's just not as close to the wilderness as I'd like. This video makes me yearn for that again. Maybe someday.

Thanks to all here for the great comments in this thread.

I've never seen more ugly photos in my life ninakat. Those have no place here.

Thanks for those. Very, very beautiful.

The guy Bear Vasquez was on Jimmy Kimmel, first part:

What cheap shots Kimmel takes, but the guy holds his own.

This image works pretty well upside down. The clouds make a seascape type texture.
