Hilarious, as they say.
But yeah, it comes down to a lot of aspects to the game, Nordic. Matt Prater is an excellent kicker, but Tebow's final 190 yards passing in the 4th quarter is what even allowed the potentiality to occur. Also remember this is Denver -- high altitude. In practice apparently that day both teams' kickers where nailing 75+ yard kicks through the uprights. The longest ever fieldgoal in history has been tied in Denver twice (62 yds) in the last 12 years. One 62 yarder came from the Raiders I believe earlier this year (sacrilege in Broncos country!) . The other was Jason Elam in 1997(?) who himself tied some other guy from way, way back. That 59 yarder by Prater would have been good from at least 70.
Marion Barber ran out of bounds or at least got close enough to the sideline to get pushed out to stop the clock when the Bears should have had the game locked as the Broncos were out of time outs. Then he fumbled. But what is not being spoken about with Bears "crybabies" (as they call them on the Denver boards) is that the fumble was forced. It was a play, played better by Brian Dawkins I believe, as he forced the fumble. It wasn't a gaffe on Barber's part. Tebow and the rest of the offense capitalized.
You should have seen me last Sunday. I haven't been that worked up about a game in some years. The comeback was the strangest thing I have ever seen ever in the NFL. The team is playing at another level, but only in the 4th quarter and OT!!! and it is something that has precluded me from making any bets this year though I have been made many offers. I could be a somewhat rich man right now had I taken every single bet I could have made.
