Actually, it is possible, though unlikely IMHO, that you will be proven correct. My question is, assuming you are directing your comment at other RI posters but not yourself, why won't you comment on it when it does happen? What will stop you if you're aware of it?

It will apply to me if I am paying attention to all the wrong things, but not if I don't. Suffice it to say that a certain class of comments would not be stopped initially, but merely ignored, and discouraged if it becomes necessary. As is often the case.

For instance, it is not at all obvious from the OP title that the topic would deal with only with BIG, BAD things which will likely happen this Spring. But it is taken for granted by nearly everyone here that it is so. Because you have been hypnotized en masse to follow a certain hopeless narrative. Nothing else is acceptable, except in passing.

Threads similar to this one have been started with relish in mid/late Winter for the last decade. Yet it is not prophecy but scatomancy.

Attending to certain features at the expense of others conjures them. Ignoring and discouraging certain features in favor of others annihilates them.

So ... assuming you have on occasion broken through the mass hypnotization to avoid the ongoing fecal matter examinations here at RI ...

Could you give me a couple links to some of the huge good news you are referring to?

I didn't change your post. That's your thing. I changed my quote of your post, a widespread and accepted practice as a source of irony/satire, commonly acknowledged as 'ftfy'. I find it charming.

It seems that RI is all you have, the way you lash out at the inference of mostly benign criticism. To damn with faint praise: There are lesser places than RI to inhabit, to be sure. I prefer Earth.

I believe my last OP was 'Person and Persona' some five weeks ago. It was more of an earwig than anything else--but I'll be getting back to it, and dada's reply, when I'm better, a slow process. As for my other OPs, I try to supply what is 'missing', selectively. (You could look them up if you like.)

For example, one single mention of the relationship between/among calcium and magnesium, sodium and potassium, in diet, nutrition and gardening is worth more than the thousands of hours of hot air expended on Trump here in this forum alone--which will never come to anything, ever. At best, its purpose is to justify or rather externalize endless, bottomless depression. That's not nothing, I suppose.

The above will likely have to suffice at present for drevil's request. Though graphene, just as a passing mention, comes to mind (while not fusion, drevil, it actually exists, is practicable, and you can make on your computer). I'm keeping an eye on the progress of the research (available via youtube), and have a project in mind using stacked disks in a cylinder connected in serial as a battery backup for a solar collector. Not negative or destructive enough to hold local attention. I understand that.

Now, I freely acknowledge that graphene has been mentioned on a few occasions here, in passing. Kudos. If the energy expended documenting Trump's misadventures were rededicated to researching the uses of graphene the energy crisis would likely already be history, and we would have to create another one--to maintain and extend our own disempowerment. Just one casual example. One of an infinite number.

Something, something about a question of balance...

That's what you do.

Most of these stories in your lists are in my face on Yahoo every day when I log out of my mail. Indeed, they are impossible to avoid wherever I go. There's no news here. Basically you're passing on what those you don't even (and shouldn't!) trust want us to see. There is no accomplishment here

For all that, I still see what you do as a worthwhile service cutting and pasting to the forum, and I have said as much to you directly on at least several occasions.

If you look back at the OP, you can see that I wasn't even addressing you personally, but you immediately took it personally, protesting too much...

However, since you have made this about you (and you do this often): It's not what you post that is the problem, as tedious and uninspired as it is, it's what you ignore: not only most/all of the 'good' news, but most of the 'bad' news as well. And you're not alone. At least you have that.

I think technically you are altering SLaD's posts by formatting them the way you are, minime.
For the sake of clarity could you not do that?

I did it for the sake of clarity!

[Edit] If you are referring to the 'ftfy' practice, this is the only forum I'm aware of that has a problem with it. As I said, it is a common practice Internet-wide. I do see how it might be a problem for anyone incapable of remembering what has just been posted in the immediately previous posts. Again, it would explain a lot.

However, I acquiesce. No 'fixed that for you' for you. Got it.
